  12. 12

  13. 13

  14. 14

    I like it.

  15. 15

Sorry, not feeling this. Couldn't get through the first 10 seconds. Please, Perez do not announce the you will be replacing Simon as the new American Idol judge. I think you may be tone-deaf.

  16. 16

I actually like it! Amazing! Love your taste in music, P-Hizzle!

  17. 17

Amazingly Bad more like it. The blue eyed soul movment is getting pretty old with me. I like soul music but it has to be good for me to like it. And right now most soul is Just blue eyed. But at least we still have Adele

  18. 18

Love love love her. Thank you for introducing us to her. I immediately went to youtube and watched all of her videos, she is amazing!

  19. 19

Reminds me a bit of Amy Winehouse, pre or shortly post, drugs & drink. And a little bit of Duffy.

  20. 20

    Im totally hooked!!!!

Not bad, not bad at all.

  22. 22

She hails from Belgium but she makes soul music with a tinge of reggae!!

Hello! All of her Songs are Famous Reggae covers!!! Come on Perez!! Do some Research she hasn't one original song!

I will give her credit for putting a spin on the "Classics"!!
And getting you white ppl turned on to music you wouldn't normally listen too!!!

  23. 23

  24. 24

    are you kidding??? fucking horrible

  25. 25

how ridiculously phoney…!! she originates from 'Belgium' and she's pretending to have a west indies accent and sing like a Marley? PLEASE. She's just another one of a large string of Winehouse copy cats…. it's too bad she isn't more true to herself and use her obvious talent in a more honest way….
RIDICULOUS. Kind of like when we all found out that Vanilla Ice was actually from a nice family in an upper class neighbourhood! Fake.

  26. 26

Sounds very similar to Adele, but I like Adele better

  27. 27

I have no idea who she is, but dammit I wanna hear more now! Great discovery Perez

  28. 28

    A poor man's Amy Winehouse.

  29. 29

she is awesome!! I love it!

  30. 30

  31. 31

    sublime+amy winehouse+adelle=AMAZING

  32. 32

omg THIS is very hot hot hot! I will actually purchase/download her full cd (no burn please). it's so nice to hear REAL MUSIC! we've totally gotta support real talent! goodness knows the industry is sorely lacking! anyway, luvvvvs it! :) thx for sharing perez! X

  33. 33

NOTE: At the beginning of the song, she does a cover from some GREAT talent from CANADA.. The name of the song is called Top Of The World-Rascalz feat. Barrington Levy & K-OS..

I thought only people from Canada knew about this hidden gem.. It's nice to be proven wrong :)

  34. 34

    Re: vancouvergrrl
Considering your nick. is vancouvergrrl, you could have at least given props about the Rascalz feat. Barrington Levy & K-OS mini cover at the start of the song before all the hate.

  35. 35

Belgiuuummm! It doesnt get nearly enough credit, it's such an awsome country, and the capital of Europe! It also was one of the first ones to legalize same sex marriage…

she's amazing! Very famous in Belgium. I saw her a few times live, it was great.

  37. 37

thnx! you made me laugh real loud!

    love her voice…

  38. 38

wow. amazing! thank you for posting!!!

  39. 39

She has a good voice, but I don't really like her. Saw her live once, but she didn't blow me away.

  40. free says – reply to this

She really IS amazing and was discovered by Milow, another one of your Belgian favorites;-)

  41. 41

Re: Kixxxers – Really, what you know about it? She doesn't only make frking Reggae covers, She has one, reggae medley that's famous. She wrote her other songs herself… (and yes she has some other covers , like Valerie originally from the zutons (and not from amy winehouse as many of you might think)
And about Amy Winehouse, duffy and the other artists she copied… She didn't she was performing before these artists were famous. And even if she did "copy" them, then what's the problem?

  42. Kibs says – reply to this

    so talented i loved it!

  43. 43

Kinda reminds me of Natalie Imbruglia

  44. 44

    Yeah Belgium artists rocks!
Thanks Perez for putting her on your website, we have a lot more of great singers and bands: Absynthe Minded for example is amazing, or dEUS

  45. 45

    I like it!
    Bravo Selah Sue!

  46. 46

I've seen her during 'music for life', amazing!

  47. 47

Shilly dilly walla dilly…sounds like Bjork meets Winehouse

  48. 48

LOVE IT! good work, Perez!! if you youtube her, you can see she's just as good (if not better) performing live

  49. 49

She is amazing indeed, even though her songs are covers…
Selah Sue also works together with AKS, a Belgian dubstep/drum 'n bass group, where she covers the vocals.
Check it out on youtube: AKS and Selah Sue
Another amazing Belgian talent is Trixie Whitley, the daughter of Chris Whitley.

  50. 50

She will be very happy to see she is on this site! As someone said before, Absynthe Minded is very good as well: go to youtube and check out their song Envoi… it's really good!

  51. 51

I like it, but she'll never be in the same league as Adele

  52. 52

Selah Sue is an amazing singer. You should get her over there in America; certainly worth seeing live, she might be tiny and fragile, but she has energy that can't be explained by words :)

  53. 53

yeaaaaah!!! Thanks Pretzel for the shout out to lil ol' belgium!!!! Selah Sue sizzles!!

  54. 54

Once again another singer stealing a style of music that has nothing to do with them. She is from Belgium why the hell is she singing Reggae?? However I will not be surprised if she blows up, sucks when people who are really reggae can't get a record deal but we let the fake ass white girl get a contract. I don't like the song because she sounds fake.

  55. 55

I like this chick, she seems pretty good!

    nelly furtado anyone?

  57. 57

    Love her.

  58. 58

I have seen this girl perform live, and at first i was like, it's good…a little amy and Duffy but after hearing her sing a few songs it's no more fun to listen to it….

  59. 59

Wow, I LUVD it!! She does have an amazing voice!

  60. 60

where do I buy her music??

  61. 61

  62. 62

i can't find her albums anywhere…not itunes, not amazon…i must have it - any help would be greatly appreciated!

  63. 63

From what I remember having the misfortune seeing her live (helium, indeed), she seems to either have a muscle spasm problem, or is doing the Belgian kids a favor by snorting up all the available hard drugs.

  64. 64

Re: i8jupiter – Her album come out this year. Her first EP was only available to buy after het concerts. I got a signed version :-) ) You can find lot's of her on youtube

  65. 65

She recorded 2 songs in October last year with the producers of Balck eyed peas and Badu. Her first album is coming out in the coming months.
Last year she broght out a ep, but this was only available to buy after her concerts.

Search on youtube moby+selah sue. A few months ago she did a duet with him on the most important music-tv-show in France 'mytaratata'

  66. 66

well, I live in Belgium and I saw her at Zeverrock and Pukemarock and I didn't like it…

  67. 67

    Check this !! On Youtube

    AKS & Selah Sue

Im getting in a other world!

  68. 68

selh is the next big thing!!! young, beutifull, nice voice… and we all love Sly and Robby, don't we?

  69. 69

    Selah Sue is really good!!

  70. 70

I've saw her live on a festival, 'marktrock' and I think she's even better live, she has a beautiful voice! check: mommy, fyah fyah
and she does have songs from herself (I only know one: break) but they aren't that famous!

  71. 71

And I don't think you can compare her with a big american/british singer like amy winehouse or adele, they won't ever sing on a festival where everyone can go for free(!) in a small city in Belgium called Leuven that NO one in the world has ever heard of… You have to appreciate her like she is cause it wasn't her meaning to have international fame so don't blame her if she's a little bit less than Adele!

  72. 72

    Re: vancouvergrrl
She is Belgian, why don't you believe this?

  73. 73

    Re: pauline.EuTeAmo
don't think you can call Leuven small :p

  74. 74

Selah sue is the best ;D &i'm from Belgium ;o^^

  75. 75

if she's form Belguim i speak dutch with her when i meet her

  76. aergn says – reply to this

in reply to all: she HAS a lot of own songs (most famous: 'Mommy' and 'Black part love'), she indeed does NOT sing like most ppl in Belgium do (so what?) and Leuven IS a small city :p
Now shut and listen, she has an amazing voice!

  77. 77

    This is so amazing!!
I am from Begium and it's so cool that our country has such a talent!
