Rihanna In Search Of A Donor For Olympic Hopeful

Truly moving!

Rihanna is showing off how big her heart truly is again by taking it upon herself to help a young Olympic skeleton sledder fight Leukaemia.

Twenty-six year old Seun Adebiyi from Nigeria wrote a heartfelt and touching letter to the pop star, asking for her help in finding a bone marrow donor. Along with Grey's Anatomy actor Justin Chambers, RiRi is now doing all she can to help the athlete fight his disease and compete in the Winter Olympics. Rihanna has said:

"Leukaemia interrupted Seun's dream of being the first Nigerian in the Winter Olympics, but together we can help him make his dream come true. We need to find him a bone marrow donor! Please sign up with DKMS!"

This is the third time Rihanna has made public pleas on behalf of those less fortunate than her and we couldn't be prouder of her dedication to such a noble cause.

Here's hoping for the best for Seun Adebiyi.

I think many celebrities do about the same. I don't think most of them do it for publicity. I like to think that people care about others and I really hate to think that only Perez Hilton's favorites are doing it from their heart.

wow im very glad rhianna is doing this to help out someone, some celebrities do have a heart, it is very hard to try to find a bone marrow donor, my sons dr are going to start looking for one for my 4month old baby as well. & hopefully they find one soon.

Why doesn’t she give a blood marrow away? Actually I rather have a celeb doing the things that they are asking us to do. I’m taking about most celebs even it’s not for publicity but actions speak louder then words. Wouldn’t it be amazing if Rihanna gave her blood marrow away to someone else (if it didn’t match Seun), the rest would follow. Anyways, GOOD for her.

It is actually spelled in both ways, as both Leukemia and Leukaemia. Leukaemia is how it is spelled throughout most of the UK while North America tends to favor the non-latin Leukemia. My father just recently passed away from AML, so whether Rihanna is doing this for publicity or not, good for her. Bone Marrow donation needs to be more public, and if it takes an Olympian and a Popstar to do it - who cares.

Perez, please please please stop kissing up to Rihanna and making her out to be a saint when here in NYC we're well aware of Seun's SELF-CREATED bone marrow drive for not only himself, but others fighting leukemia! So spare me the garbage that Rihanna came to his rescue when this kid ALONE made it happen and all she's doing is jumping on the bandwagon to make her seem more humanitarian.

perez i love u and ur site or i wouldnt be on here, but your love and support/positive press of rhiana baffles me. As much as you've slammed chris brown for what he did u totally let rhianna slide. Hi guys, I am a donor and I was able to be a donor for someone last March. It is not as easy as it looks. If you are a donor there is only a 0.2-0.3% change of ever being able to actually donate, because the chance of being a match is that small.
Futhermore, the type of bone marrow (HLA-match, same as for organs) is race related. There are much less donors of other races than there are caucasian donors. Probably that is why Rihanne raises awareness now. Of course you are always welcome to become a donor, but in this specific case just any donor will not do.

Perez u gettin on my nerves tryin to make it seem like she is a princess and she's not! She's a liar and she does everything for publicity! When I read this article I just didn't buy it. I simply think that its for publicity and I understand that nobody can just go in there and donate bone marrow, but what if she tried?! She could've tried and then if it didn't work, then ask other people to help. Its just every since that 20/20 and 106 and park incident recently, I don't believe anything that girl says! The Ninth Circuit Has Ruled That California's Proposition 8 Is Unconstitutional!!!!

Yes! It most certainly is!!!

The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has upheld Judge Vaughn Walker's ruling invalidating Proposition 8 this morning, confirming that the bill is unconstitutional and should be thrown out! Judges Stephen Reinhardt, Michael Daly Hawkins and N. Randy Smith voted 2-1 that passing the bill goes against this country's Constitution and banning same-sex marriage violates the very foundation of freedom this country was built on!

It's a MASSIVE step in the right direction and EXTRAORDINARY news for all those who want to see real change in this country. With that said, the fight is far from over as ProtectMarriage, the backers of Proposition 8, can appeal the decision to a larger panel of the 9th Circuit or go directly to the U.S. Supreme Court.

You know what? We say, "BRING IT ON!!!!" It seems like more and more, the fair and just people of our government are on the side of equality and we whole-heartedly feel like it will be sooner rather than later that we will see same-sex marriage become legal in California!

Rejoice and spread the good news! Equality for all is on its way!!!
