Two inmates David Boltjes and Paul Inman showed off their eye tattoos with one sporting red and another blue of what used to be the whites of their eyes!

They don't say how it's done, but they do admit that it's incredibly painful!

      MSNBC airs this shit all weekend long. Occasionally I will get sucked into an episode but that is rare. Good job of the network giving attention to a new way to alter our bodies.

      People should NEVER mess with their vision. Don't tattoo artists have some form of a code of ethics or conduct? This can't be a good thing, and at the very least could set up the possibility of a terrible infection.

      this is really old news .. a guy had it done and he had it filmed for the nat geo channel for a show called "Taboo" .. it's extremely dangerous but evidently there is no pain associated with it because there aren't any nerve endings in your eyeball

      this is real. on the episode of lockup they find documents that show how they did it. they put ink into a syringe and injected it into their eyes.

      My brother is an tattoo artist, and let me tell you guys, eyes tattoo's are becoming a trend now, a lot of people are getting it done especially those with body modifications life-style. my brother had seen it how is done, but he will never do it, he say eyes are to delicated and I agree.

Can we expand the death penalty to include lesser crimes so people like these will be eliminated from society? How are they getting hypodermic needles in prison? And what are the guards doing that prisoners have so much time to tattoo each other's eyeballs?! The whole system needs to be overhauled. Hard labor and nothing but! No time to tattoo each other.

      I saw this procedure done on that show Taboo that's on the national geographic channel like 2 years ago. It was insane!! It's just poking a needle inside filled with ink and squirting it in. The guy lives in New Zealand and got them black. The tattoo artist practiced on a dead pig's head first (the eyes of course). It was crazy!!

      Re: manaqueen – as for the pain, I would imagine that the quality (or lack thereof) of the inks used in the prison tattoos might have something to do with the extra pain. Who knows what mixtures these guys actually used, but in prison urine is very commonly used as part of the mixture. I would imagine the acidity of urine, even diluted down with whatever else they use, would still sting painfully when punctured underneath the top eye layers
