FOX "Lukewarm" Towards Conan

Uh-oh!

We assumed that all the hush-hush coy talk from FOX reps regarding adding Conan O'Brien to their late night was just out of courtesy. Now, it maybe that they don't want Conan either!

After talking to some FOX affiliate station managers, it has been suggested that adding Conan to the network maybe tricky, as most stations are tied into syndication contracts or local news for the late night spot.

While there are mainly financial and scheduling issues with placing Conan into the FOX line up, there is also concern that Conan isn't a right fit for the network, despite his history with The Simpsons. One of the network's General Mangers put it bluntly:

"If he didn't work on NBC, why would he work for us? I don't see a fit in our particular market."

Ouch! Tough break, Conan.

Where do you go from here, bb?

I'm a huge Connan fan! I don't understand what the big deal is? Jay had his time, peace out! Hello Connan after the news and then Jimmy Fallon! People just don't do well with change. Connan is hilarious! Seriously!

    Conan isn't funny!

  5. 5

personally i dont find him funny…i think Leno is much better at the job of late nite host and is much funnier…even if it is just writers that make the jokes…well then conan got the short end of the stick, but i think its more or less him….

He's going to 12:05 moron he didnt say he was leaving NBC ..he would have announced that on Monday night

No one was watching Jays show at 10 so why move him to a later time and screw conan. Jay has had his years with the network and show give conan a chance…..Team Conan

of course he won't fit in to any other network - he's not funny. but NBC fucked with a solid line-up that included decent ratings for both of them and now EVERYONE'S going to get screwed. Conan will probably go to midnight, which only leaves Leno with an utterly useless half-hour show. O'Brien still won't do well as his humor is for drunk or stoned frat boys, not mid-America. NBC - you're STOOPID!

So, if Conan gets bumped off completely he gets $80 million and he doesn't even have to work for it, right? Why are people feeling sorry for him???

fox would be lucky to have coco. he belongs on comedy central, though.

  11. 11

NBC stands for Nobody Backs Conan.

One station general manager said it - so that is equivalent to all of FOX being lukewarm?

Conan is not funny. If his ratings weren't dismal, he would not have been asked to be moved. He thinks he is funny more than audience does. I swear, I haven't heard someone laugh at their own jokes as much as him. Hasta la vista Conan… you suck.

I'm not saying Cohen is my fav but what the hell is so greattt about Leno? His time should be up as well lets get some fresh faces on there to look at!!
