Kris Allen Outsells Glambert!
Guess America made have spoken too soon on the injustice that left Kris Allen the winner of American Idol - because he's got selling power!
Adam Lambert may have had a bigger first week than Allen, but the numbers for their singles are telling. Allen's Live Like We're Dying has been sold just under 500,000 downloads and holds the #27 spot on the Soundscan singles charts while Glambert's For Your Entertainment has sold just over 200,000.
It's okay, Glammie! We know you'll work it out!

RCA couldn't really promote FYE because of the AMA backlash. People associate that song with simulated BJ's and male on male kisses. I loved it, but most of America didn't feel the same. Adam's new single "Whataya Want From Me" is going in a whole new direction. The video is being released Friday, and he's taping Oprah today. There's nothing bigger in America than Oprah, so we'll see how his sales do after that. Adam is the most talented singer out there right now. I have full confidence that he's going to be epic. He's just got to get the AMA shit behind him.

Thank God. Lambert's song is garbage, Kris' is much better. Lambert's 15 minutes of infamy are over. Good riddance.
Adam is a phenomenal talent, and much more interesting than Kris, but what he came out with was plain weird. He was so great at ballads. He needs to do something more straightforward so people can hear how well he can sing before coming out with the theatrics. Kris is like so many others out there now and very little sets him apart.
Adam Lambert = Flash in the pan. It was fun while it lasted.

There is nothing to compare here. This is chalk,cheese….Adam is very talented and his new album is outstanding. Kris is a nice guy and sings well. I would listen to Kris on the radio but I would go out of my way to buy Adams' album, For Your Entertainment and fly to another country to see him perform live. Just saying. Plus I have already purchased Adams' single, album and video. I look forward to seeing him singing live in the not to distant future. What an incredible talented young man he is. America is soo lucky, some of you have no idea how lucky, and he is so loved by his fans. Is that not an indication of how amazing he is? You dont get that kind of following if you have no talent….argh You haters need to find something else to rage against.

Adam has something interesting about him. But he is too cockey, I think he learned to calm down abit now though. Kris is average. I heard him sing on New Years Ever (I was sober- too bad for me) he wasnt good. It was off key and pitchy. I thought that he would have worked on the voice more while he was invisible for a while, but apparently not. And that song is annoying. Great start, but he will fade away.
I am somewhat surprised, but pleased for Kris who is more mainstream.I don't see my mother buying Glambert's CD (yes,I bought it and it is amazing!), but I would see her buying Kris'.
Ever since Adam apeared on American Idol, I've been hoping he would win. Fortunatly, he didn't. His first album sucks like hell… It's so fake. To me it looks like he's trying to be someone he's not, but yet again, I don't know who he is. Well I don't like the person he's trying to project in his videos and in his album. He's like a male version of Lady gaga, only difference is he sucks. You know, he stood out in American Idol, which is a good thing. But now it's disgusting… And his songs have no meaning.
That's possibly because "For Your Entertainment" is the shittiest song recorded in the history of recorded music. Just a hunch.

Well, I'm just now starting to hear "Whaddya want from me" on my radio station, so I think the label finally released it for airplay. I think that song has a much better chance of doing great on the charts.

Well I was crazy about Adam and saw him on the AI tour when it came to my city. He has lost me as a fan, over his inappropriate actions. He seems to have forgotten the fan base that voted for him when he was on AI. That fan base did not care that he was gay, just was crazy over his talent. He seems only capable of listening to no one but himself. I see him with a small career, playing in small venues and god forbid - looking more like Liberace as he gets older with young guys hanging around and using him. He could have been so much more if he had just kept it about the singing.

Well in Canada adam is doing really, really well in both his singles and music video. If the U.S. refuses to play Adams singles (unlike Canada) how can they sell?

Perez honey why are we being so crabby at Adam all the time? Now we know you hang around with some friends in common and I know you are in the music biz. So you know that when you add up singles vs. albums the albums sell more. For example when Kesha had Tic Toc at number one in the downloads for digital she sold something like $5k to Adam's 5 million dollars in album sales. Plus Adam's album has been steadily hanging in the top 40 albums for five weeks now. Kris has had his song out longer and yeah it's getting air time. Leave that cute hot boy Adam alone sweetie. And leave his "friend" alone too. Begins with a D. You know who I mean!!!

Lunarosa….you are exactly right! I'm sure Adam learned from his AMA debacle. We ALL make mistakes…..that includes you Perez….and all you other people that think your perfect!!! Adams "Whataya Want From Me" video is fabulous….it reminds me of his IDOL days. He is showing his softer side and its nice! I think the next song he releases should be "Strut"…..now that's a great song to dance to!

WTF?!?! The only reason Kris has more downloads is BECAUSE 3things:
1) They only made his single available on Itunes, not like Adam's where you could get it in way TOO many places
2) Itunes made it VERY difficult for anyone to find Adam's single at the onset of the sales.
3) For some reason, Kris' song got way more airplay than Adam's & Adam's is SOOOOO much better. After a min of Kris' chorus. I'm ready to turn the radio off!!!!

I saw the Adam Lambert concert when he came to Michigan last summer, and he was spectacular. The whole room seemed to fill with electricity when Adam was due to come on. It was his show, and everyone knew it. It was the same thing when Lady Gaga was about to come on stage last night at 'Joe Louis Arena' in Detroit. The whole place went nuts, and she deserved all of the praise and more! Both of these performers are not only gifted singers, but they are visually beautiful. They know how to put on a show, and they both learn from what they have done before. The thing that impresses me so much about both of them is how hard they work to please their fans. I love both of them. I can't wait to go back to both Adam Lambert, and Lady Gaga's concerts. This time there should be about 10 of us from one family going. All generations, and genders. We are having so much fun!

Oh what the hell. Perez, get it right… For Your Entertainment, the single, hasn't even been PROMOTED as a single since the AMAs, which is literally like a week and a half after it even CAME OUT. It's gotten next to zero spins and yet still sold 200k… hmm. He's been promoting Whataya Want From Me for a fraction of the time Kris Allen has and is gaining airplay and is just now releasing a video for it.
Not to mention the ALBUM FACTS. Adam's nearly gone gold and sits at 36 on the Billboard 200. Where's Kris, hmmmm?
Plus Adam's going to be on Oprah… I don't see Kris on Oprah.
Nor did I see Kris's album debuting anywhere NEAR the #3 that Adam managed to pull off… over artists like your favorite Lady Gaga, Rihanna, etc who all dropped on the same damn day.

I think Adam is in danger of becoming a characterization of this character he has created. If he normalized his look more, he might have some opportunities in acting and he could get more followers from the mainstream. Otherwise, he will end up a marginal entertainer–looking more like Liberace as he ages. Can't believe his handlers are not more with it. They thought they had a money cow and that is not turing out to be the case.

Kris sold singles. Adam is selling albums. Adam's album is expected to reach Gold in February. Kris's album is collecting dust and will soon be in the discount bin. I think that albums trump singles.
Let's not forget hat Adam's second single is climbing the charts and just a got a big boost from Oprah. So we'll see who wins the sales game.
