But please, someone keep an eye on Snooki.

The New Jersey Legislature will legalize the use of medical marijuana today. It is the 14th state in the U.S. to pass the legislation and yesterday, the measure passed by the General Assembly and State Senate.

7-11s in the Garden State, get ready! You are about to be bombarded!

Nah, its going to be impossible to get. There is a short list of illnesses right now that they will OK it for and there will only be 6 dispenseries in the entire state!! It's a step in the right direction though.

I don't understand your last statement: "7-11s in the Garden State, get ready! You are about to be bombarded!"
I though MEDICAL Marijuana had to be given out to those with a prescription at special shops that dispense it.
In any case Medical Marijuana should be a fifty state no brainer.
Also the decriminalization of simple possession should be considered by all states.

    12. 12

whaaaat? what does that whole thing about 7-11s means? i don't get it.

    13. 13

Yet they wont allow gay marriage. What a mess.

    14. 14

I'm all for legalizing pot,but N.J. surely screwed up by NOT allowing gay marriage. To me,that's a lot more important then pot. JMO!

    15. 15

It's not like anyone can go out and get it. There is a specific list of medical conditions that can have it such as: AIDS/HIV, cancer, glaucoma, Chron's Disease, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, MS, ALS, Muscular dystrophy.

To date NJ will have the strictest law in the country. You can only have 2oz and it can only be used at home or in hospice. We are not permitted to own our own plants like the other states allow. The 6 places that dispense it will be located like this: 2 in north jersey, 2 in central and 2 in south jersey.

    16. 16

YAAAAAA! go 420!!!! I'm Canadian but its one more place!

so they don't legalize gay marriage but they legalize marijuana… um, really?

    18. 18

It's not going to be rampantly legal. NJ's lawmakers have this law zipped tight… not only will it be very hard to get medical marijuana (only 6 dispensaries in the entire state), it'll be very hard to get a prescription for it… only certain disorders/diseases/etc. are applicable… i.e., those who are truly suffering. On top of that, it's actually illegal for a card-holding Med Marijuana user to transport marijuana anywhere else than from his house to the dispensary. If caught driving anywhere else at any other time with med marijuana, that legally prescribed user will be arrested. Though, we all konw that this will lead to complete legalization down the road (yay!), so I don't completely disagree with you, Perez.

    19. 19

1.) Unlike in your state, NJ only allows it by prescription
2.) No one goes to 7-11's around here, Wawa is where it's out except maybe in the cities. Please st like you know our state.

Re: timo – It's medical marijuana idiot! They don't just let you walk in off the streets and buy a joint. It's only with prescription, you're only permitted 2 ounces a month, and it only is prescribable to people with diseases that cause severe pain.

MEDICAL marijuana; and don't encourage its abuse, as there are people who really seem to benefit from its nausea suppressing and appetite inducing effects.
      It's not some free-for-all.

    22. 22

COME ON NEW YORK!!!! were in like, last place!!?! :( booooo
