Two Dixie Chicks Leave The Coop For Solo Gig

This is sure to make Natalie Maines mad as hell! That is, unless she has a solo album in the works too..
Dixie Chicks & sisters Martie Maguire and Emily Robison will be branching out on their own and away from leader singer Natalie in creating their own duet album. From what we know, the sisters are in the process of cutting some demos without Natalie and their label is eager to receive whatever country tunes the girlies put out.
As for the Dixie Chick as a whole, Lloyd Maines, Natalie's father and producer of the Chick's most controversial album, Home, said he didn't think there were any plans to "reincarnate their act."
Shame. With Lilith Fair coming up, you ladies would have been a shoe in!

Natalie Maines is a traitor to her country. The Dixie Chicks died the day after they were blacklisted by everyone who USE TO purchase their CDs and concert tickets.

Nooooooo - I love these girls!!! They're the bestest girl band and I love their controversy. Bush is out and has been for a long time - why are these lovely women still being punished? They should've been celebrated for hating on Bush - he was and still is an asshole. Hey - it's my opinion. I'm allowed to hate him.

They'll be back. They'll flop as solos and have no choice but get back together. Like it or not except for a group of bible thumping hillbillies and Texas Yahoos the rest of the country agreed with what Maines said about Bush and embraced the Group even more.
You missed half the story… Natalie's father said "the three girls are "definitely still an entity." He says the sisters are "cutting some demos" and that Natalie recorded "a little something with them" about a year ago." It's SO obvious you've outsourced your gossip and your site is starting to suck because of it!

they did come back strong…they won 5 grammys for their post-controversy album, don't know if comebacks get much bigger than that.
i'm sure they'll make music together again, they are so talented and have been together for so long, fair enough that natalie wants to concentrate on her family, you can't raise kids properly on the road

Maybe it is time for all of them to do some solo work and then get back together as the Dixie Chicks. We all know how well that worked out for Beyonce/Destiny's Child.
This post is so hilariously inept, from "shoo-in" being misspelled and misunderstood as "shoe in," to wondering whether Natalie has a "solo" album in the works like the other two have a solo album in the works, to the ellipsis at the beginning having two dots instead of three. By being a citizen of the United States of America, you are also a traitor yourself, FIRST to England! So now it's the pot calling the kettle black. In case you don't know what free speech is, it is the ability to speak your mind/conscience/opinion/thoughts/ideas without restriction or fear of punishment including death. You declaring her traitorous and wanting her to die takes away her freedom of speech. Your speech does not allow for free ideas, even if they are contrary to yours. Your speech is hateful and stifles. Your speech, is actually not speech. Your speech is hate speech, which has been deemed by the Supreme Court as something that will lead to the cancellation of another's speech, and possibly their life. Your speech is deemed "fighting words" that falls outside the protection of the First Amendment. And if you need some reading material to better understand, view Chaplinksy v. New Hampshire, 1942.

they have not broken up. They are just working on different projects right now. They will absolutely record together as the dixie chicks. Natalie even did a guest vocal on martie and emily's project. The dixie chicks won a slew of grammy's after Natalie's comments…which by the way were correct. Bush was incompetent and really hurt us as a nation.
Very sad.. I miss the Dixie Chicks and knowing they may never come back as a group is sad. Lets face it… Martie and Emily are very talented by I doubt they will have much of a career without Natalie. I think Natalie has potential to still be a big star on her own. She has the voice (and the balls!) to make her voice heard. CANADIANS LOVE NATALIE MAINES

Natalie voiced her opinion that she was embarrassed that the president was from her state based upon the actions he was taking.

Apparently you do NOT agree with the current President of the United States, and sound down-right embarrassed that he is in such an elected position. That is your opinion, and again I am sure YOU are not aiding and comforting the enemy as Natalie was not a few years ago when she voiced her embarrassment about the previous president.
