Robert Downey Jr. On Board For Sherlock Sequel

He's amazeballs, but we doubt we could sit through another Sherlock Holmes!
Robert Downey Jr. has opted out of Cowboys & Aliens, the graphic novel adaptation turned sci-fi flick helmed by Iron Man director Jon Favreau. Due to scheduling conflicts with the yet-to-be greenlit Sherlock Holmes 2, the star had to drop out of the project.
The Sherlock sequel has been fast tracked due to its $300 million in worldwide earnings at box office, but Downey was the best part of it! Madge's ex-hubby better step it up next time!
Do U think RDJ made the right decision?!

IDK… But I do know that by the time this comment appears..the movie will have been made and already in theaters..WTF Mario…so sloooowwww.
Youre an idiot perez. Sherlock Holmes was a great movie. Maybe you just cant keep up with a real story line, stick to your shitty twilight movies.
step it up? he was amazing!! You obviously have no taste in movies. Did you even see the movie?!?
I loved Sherlock!! I will definitely see #2. Good choice RDJ.
I guess you consider any movie bad that doesn't feature shirtless 17 year olds, you fat pervy wanker.
it's called money mario and it speaks volumes…….
What is wrong with you, Perez?
Sherlock Holmes was a GREAT movie.
It was exciting, action-packed and extremely funny at all times. I am looking forward to the Sherlock Holmes sequel, I am sure it will be great.
I love the Sherlock Holmes books. I've always been more about books than movies anyhow. I find the only movies that didn't pale in comparison to the books was LOTR.
a sequel really? omg i thought the first one was bad enough to put the brakes on any idea like that…..UGH
dont get me wrong…i luv Robert as an actor, he is one of the greatest ever..but damn that was a wack ass movie…
how could you NOT like the sherlocke holmes movie? sounds like you've gone a bit mental sweets… no offence but that movie was ridiculous!
is sherlock good? i keep meaning to see it before it leaves the theaters.
So back to your original question. I think he did make the right decision. So many people these days can't seem to read, and although I've no intention of seeing the movie, I would guess it's better than these stories being forgotten.
sherlock holmes was awesome perez, wtf are you talking about
I loved Sherlock Holmes.
Did you even see it??? The movie was amazing! Once they get Brad Pitt in there for Moriarity and start filling in more gay undertones it's gonna be awesome
I hope the entire cast comes back for the sequel. They were all super. I really liked Jude and Rachel.
A sequel would be amazing! If you couldn't "sit through" the first one, then obviously you just have a really short attention span. As long as RDJ and Jude are in it, it will be just as amazing and entertaining as the first.
Re: ShakeNBake13 – I concur - I honestly think that Mario and all of the teenie boppers here that think it is a "wack ass movie" didn't understand the story line and simply couldn't follow it. It was fantastic - I can't wait for a sequel, the end definitely set it up for one. I hope Jude Law is on board too, he was great. It's kind of like Traffic - lots of people didn't like it because it was too confusing and they didn't understand the story line, it couldn't click with them but I think it was wonderful.
Re: Canadiana* – LOL, that was good.
WTF are you on about?
That movie was ace!
I guess there weren't enough drag queens or musical numbers in it for you?
Robert could sell dog food on TV and I would watch it. He can do no wrong IMO. So if he wants to do a sequel to SH, that's great. I am there! But they better get Jude Law back, bcz the chemistry between them was excellent!
I love Sherlock Holmes as well & I'm definitely going to see the sequel. I can see why he's have to back out of the other one to film for the sequel.
Avatar makes $1.3B and you call it a failure.
Sherlock makes $300M and you call it a failure.
For someone in the "entertainment" business…I dont think you understand how it works.
Its a really enjoyable movie (even though it is a Guy Richie movie) - great fight action sequences, great dialogue, good plot…however I was disappointed by Robert Downey's performance. Compared to his brilliant performance in Iron Man, it seemed like he was half-hearted in the role as Sherlock. Amazingly, Jude Law puts in a very good performance as his best buddy Dr. Watson as did Rachel McAdams who looks stunning as well. I would defo see the sequel but hope Robert steps up his game by then!
the movie is a lot like u mario… it sucked donkey pinga
Crisp and humorous dialogue is just NOT your cup of tea, is it pig-vomit? You actually find humor in those puerile cartoons you run on Tuesdays. Just turn Sherlock Holmes into a gayarama pansy-fest with Tay-Tay the gay-gay and you'll be there with bells on, eh piggy-boy?
I *loved* Sherlock Holmes, so YES to him choosing to do the sequel! =D
Sherlock Holmes kicked ass! Robert and Jude better both be back, they were OMFG!!!! Perez, you need your ass kicked again.
Were you the only person who didn't like "Sherlock"?
Guys I know who are way into the OG stories, as well as people who just like action movies loved it. Me, it was no "Avatar", but it still was a ton of fun to watch.
Sequel will most definitely kick ass.
I LOVED Sherlock Holmes! I thought it was fantastic…saw it 3 times in the theater!!! =D
I didn't like the movie.
Perez, I love u but that was just stooopid. Sherlock Holmes is a GREAAAT movie!!! I will watch every sequel! Downey Jr was so awesome in it I am wondering if you even went to see the movie… x
Awesome movie. Just saw it and was hoping there would be a sequel. It wasn't slow at all!! It left me wanting more. Robert Downey was awesome. I thought Jude Law was great, too, and I'm not a fan. How would you "step it up"??? You need to shut off your phone and stop tweeting or looking around to see if someone notices you. Watch the fucking movie!!
Leave off the hand jobs with random strangers in the theater, Mario, and actually watch the movie, huh?
Sherlock Holmes was a really good movie! I would definitely see a second one!
nice hat shithead
Robert Downey Jr. is smart. Perhaps (and likely reason) is that Downey Jr. is approaching this with a business frame of mind. Monetarily, he has much to gain from doing another Sherlock Holmes sequel. Plus, the first one was very entertaining. He wouldn't be compromising his artistic integrity to be a part of another Sherlock sequel.
my god. do u people have any taste? that movie sucked big time. i was wishing it would end and it kept going on forever. bad directing, no heart and soul. every one i know who saw it said it was just ok or they didnt like it.
plus robert downey jr and jude law had absalutely NO chemistry.
