I don't get the big deal - TV shows get cancelled and moved around all the time. If a show is getting low ratings, they try it out at a different day/time, and then if no improvement it gets cancelled. How is this Leno/Conan thing any different than any other show that gets canned/moved?????????????

I have no dog in this fight, but he works for the network. They don't work for him. It has always been so. Just saying. They'll likely decide based on the existing contract.

He can lawyer-up until he's blue in the face, but that's not going to change the fact that he blindly negotiated his contract with all the NBC-esque legal jargon in place, with no definitive anything in writing, soooooooooo, he'd be better off donating the legal budget to the Haiti rescue efforts. The difference is that instead of bowing out gracefully when his contract expired, Jay instead chose to stay in the spotlight at Conan's expense. The 10-o'clock-sorta/kinda-Tonight-Show was a format that was unprecedented. And it was especially risky because if it failed you're not talking about one unsuccessful show on NBC in the 10pm slot, you're talking about FIVE nights of an unsuccessful show in a late prime time slot. This could have disastrous consequences because even though everyone has a clicker to change the channel, it IS still a big advantage to have high-rated shows as a lead-in.

And now, to actually have the balls to waltz back in to the Tonight Show because he has changed his mind and wants it back, and to just let Conan and his staff hit the road, shows how extraordinarily self-centered and slimy Jay is. Just because NBC offers him the Tonight Show back, it doesn't mean he should take it. If he had any sense of class—or any sense of consideration for Conan and his staff—he would politely decline.

Honestly… WTF? Okay, he moved everyone out to LA, but seriously, it's not as there isn't any other job out there. Just get another show witzh someone is appreciating you more than NBC does. Karma sucks and will come at some point. This whole 'Leno said… Conan did… Kimmel made fun of … Ferguson commented on … Letterman decided to' crap… seriously has none of them anything better to do??? I'll ask once again, why are people pissed at Leno? All the decisions, from beginning to end, have been NBC's. Even if Leno turned down NBC's offer to move back to the Tonight Show, Conan would be on his way out because his ratings sucked. Yes, it's horrible that a bunch of people and their families moved across the country for nothing, but showbiz is a fickle bitch….
