Is Rue OK???
Oh no!
Golden Girl Rue McClanahan has suffered a stroke.
The 75 year old collapsed while she was recovering from bypass surgery a week before.
Her husband Morrow Wilson says that once doctors removed the blood clot that caused the stroke, she had been struggling with her speech and walking. But after remaining in ICU for two weeks she went into a rehab center and is now currently in a nursing facility.
Wilson says:
"She can understand what you are saying in conversation, but still has some trouble speaking. Her speech is slower than it once was and she hasn't completely recovered on the right side of her body. She's going to require a lot more physical and speech therapy - but at least it's not like I stay awake at nights any more thinking that Rue is going to die."
How awful! But we're glad to here she's making progress.
We wish Rue a speedy recovery!

I hope she is ok. The same thing happened to my mother while she was in labor with me. She had to have a portion of her left lobe from her brain removed and now is partially paralized on her right side and has problems speaking, which is similar to Rue but unlike my mother it seems that her stroke my have been less severe thankfully. A stroke is a terrible thing to have to go through and I'm very lucky that 22 years later my mom is still here and though she may have some disabilites due to it, she is the kindest and strongest person I know. My thoughts and prayers go out to Rue and her family. Never give up hope.

My thoughts are certainly with Rue, who is a talented actress with a great deal of charm and wit. I certainly wish her the best.

Geez,things have been so bad for our Golden Girls. First Bea and Estelle pass away and now this! It's so sad. I wish her all the best for a full and speedy recovery.
