Simon Cowell Starts An International TV Uproar!
Nowhere near the calamity coming from NBC, but give it time. We're sure the feud will pick up some momentum.
As he announced earlier this week, Simon Cowell is saying so long to the show that made him a namesake in favor of bringing his UK success stateside. Next year, Simon will switch gears from judging American Idol to judging the new USA version of The X Factor.
This sounds all well and good over here, but the Brits are mighty pissed with Simon. It seems he is attempting to stay with both editions of the show, which would require them not to be slated at the same time. The US is shooting to premiere the show next fall - the exact time slot the UK has always had for the program.
Now, it is an all out war over who will get the time slot and who will get Cowell. We're fairly certain the US will win (we have a good track record of beating the Brits), but we don't think it's fair! We take their judge and their show!
What will they be left with???
Then again, they can't have American Idol and X Factor on at the same time! Super confusing!

Here is the solution: Cancel American Idol after this season and put The X Factor in it's place. So push up The X Factor from Fall 2011 to Winter 2011. We all known American Idol will lose its ratings after Simon isn't on it anymore.
This writing makes no sense. There are 6 hours time difference between UK and US east cost, more for the rest of the US.
Why can't he do both shows at the same time? If I remember correctly Len and Bruno both do Strictly Come Dancing, and Dancing With the Stars, at the same time. They just fly back and fourth. One airs on Monday/Tuesday (DWTS) and the other airs some other time in the week (presumably Thursday/Friday would be the best choice), so why can't Simon do that as well?
But I agree, it's really not fair. Why not just start it in the USA around January…same time Idol starts? Seems like American Idol wouldn't be airing until then if they hadn't received The X Factor, so why not just wait? We all know if he leaves American Idol this will be the last season. ESPECIALLY if they're picking up The X Factor which is the exact same thing basically. I hardly doubt we'll be seeing American Idol 10 so why not just move The X Factor to that time slot and let the Brits get what's rightfully theirs…for once.

Honestly this story is a load of rubbish.
The last season of X-Factor was shocking, you Americans would do us a favor by taking the X-Factor. The only reason the press over here is pissed off is probably to the fact they are annoyed Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue will not be one our televisions for every weekend for four months of the year.
I for one would be happy for Square Head, I mean Simon Cowell to stay in the US.
We have Alexandra Burke, Leona Lewis and JLS, thats enough.

Why doesn't he ditch American Idol (as was done with Pop Idol) and put X Factor in its place? It's really an easy solution. Why would there be American Idol AND X Factor??? X Factor is huge here in the UK, and has a much smaller following in the US. Americans don't want to watch the same crap over and over like the British.

X factor is the uk & Irelands prob most watched show leading up to xmas! it's the whole point of the show for the winner to aim to get the xmas no1. Has always been that way!!! & by the way he can't do the two x factors @ the same time cos 1st of all the judges mentor the finalists in categories & 2nd of all cheryl cole is rumoured to be a judge on the Us version sooo I can't see them flying bk & forth!!!

I'd like to know which Brits are in uproar about this…first I've heard of it! All reports I've read have said that Cowell wants to launch the X factor in the US but as a producer only- not a judge. Even if he did do both, chances are they'd run on different days. I doubt he'd change the British timetable since he's had pretty much a coup over the Christmas charts since the start of the series and his other programme (Britain's Got Talent) runs in the spring.
Also I'm with the others- what do you mean about "you" having a good track record when it comes to beating the Brits? What programme of ours has had to change because of Americans? And what is your role in it anyway? Nobody here besides people who read this website know who the hell perez is, so don't overestimate your influence, mate.
