Simon Gave Up $100 Million To Do X Factor
That is a shizload of cash, but when you have the kind of money he already has you can afford to reject it.
Simon Cowell reportedly turned down the $100 million offer he received to stay at American Idol!
That kind of offer obviously hints at Idol execs believing that the show can't go on without him, but Simon seems to think otherwise saying:
"If I thought it would lead to the death of Idol, I genuinely wouldn't have done it. We are sure that Idol will continue successfully. Everyone seemed quite cool about it."
In the meantime Simon is hard at work at bringing The X Factor over to America successfully in 2011, even tapping music mogul (and Mariah Carey's ex-husband) Tommy Mottola to judge on the show.
We're not sure how successful Idol will be without Simon.

Its nice to know that there's at least ONE person on the planet that will turn down a huge offer and choose to get behind something that they support and actually want to be a part of!
Simon and Paula were the reason American Idol was even watchable. Without them, it would have been just another talent show. Seriously, how boring is the combo of Ellen, Randy Jackson, and that other chick no one cares about?
It won't be the same without Simon!! But I don't really care cause X-Factor is just as fun to watch, if not better! Can't wait..
Idol is over without Simon. Simon should pick up that lush, Paula and bring her to X factor. Only show anyone will be watching. I really hope X Factor does well after turning down 100 million. That would suck if it didn't.
