Does Richard Gere Need A New Business Partner?

Richard Gere might have just been blessed by the Dalai Lama earlier this month, but that doesn't mean things are going well for him.

Gere and his wife partnered up with Russell Hernandez back in 2008 to purchase the Bedford Post Inn, a historic farmhouse which they turned into an eight-room inn, with a restaurant and even a yoga studio.

And this isn't your regular B&D as the room rates range from $395 a night to $550.

But with the economy the way it is, business might be going slow for the Inn as vendors and employees are complaining about not getting paid.

According to three people who was worked at the Inn, some of the yoga instructors have had their payments delayed for up to three months at a time.

And despite multiple emails and phone calls to the accountants, they were left with no money and forced to confront the accountants outside their office.

One of the employees adds, "I find it humiliating. It's the exact opposite of what yoga is about — integrity, being honest." And according to a previous vendor, "Getting [Hernandez] on the phone to get payment is like trying to get to the president."

However, the Inn claims they've done no wrong.

Instead, a rep for the place states, "Like all businesses, vendors for the Bedford Post submit their bills for approval and, once approved by the managers, they are paid within their payment terms. The Bedford Post is current on its vendor payments."

Let's hope they start paying all their employees on time before everyone walks out on them. Time to get your business in check, Gere!
