Courtney Love has decided to resurrect her band, Hole, but didn't ask former bassist, Melissa Auf Der Maur, to join! The singer formerly had a dispute with Eric Erlandson, but hinted that it had ended.
And it better have! Courtney signed a contract that she could not use the name Hole unless it included him.
But, Auf Der Maur, recently discovered that dates have been booked in North America and Europe without her. She said:
"I want to make it clear that I have nothing to do with this series of concerts. Honestly, I'm a little surprised by this turn of events.
I am disappointed that they are going to jeopardise a real Hole reunion, which I think would be great for fans and fun for us, the band. (Love is) really is jeopardizing the Hole reunion, which is not impossible, but it will be if this continues."

Melissa Auf Der Maur is too good for Hole anyway. She deserves better than to be in a band with that unprofessional, coked-up hot mess Courtney Love.
I KNEW Courtney, in a last ditch effort to get some cash for her ongoing drug habit, would try and reform Hole. I saw her perform in 99, long after their prime and she was just awful! Rambling incoherent drunk, flashing her tits and berating the crowd. That was 10 yrs ago….imagine now!

Courtney DID ask Melissa to be in the new version of the band, but she declined. Melissa was never even an original member of the band. She was the 5th bass player the band had. She replaced someone who died.
Re: LizardKinG – Hole have sold 5 million albums in the US alone. And their first comeback gig in February this year in London sold out in under 5 minutes. So yes, Hole has plenty of fans.

Yeah, Hole bass-lines aren't rocket science, but Melissa AdM's bass work on celebrity skin was far more than just a few notes. She has a really good ear, and the bass + her backup vocals were impeccable - and really lifted the songs - and were integral to that album achieving a far more polished sound. (that and the fact Billy Corgan wrote most of it).

The original bassist Kristen Pfaff was killed, probably by Eric Erlandson at the request of Courtney Love. It was ruled an "accidental overdose". Courtney has a trail of dead bodies behind her and that's no accident. Look into it.
Re: Harry Jenkins Fan Club – First: Coo-coo!!! Second: Kristen Pfaff was NOT Hole's original bassist. Hole was already signed to Geffen when Pfaff came in. Third: If Courtney Love was having people murdered and getting away with it (she can't even type a coherent sentence) you think that Melissa Auf der Maur would be crying about not having enough time to let Courtney kill her? Don't think so. Kristen Pfaff was addicted to heroin. Just because she went to rehab and was clean for a little bit doesn't mean she didn't binge and overdose all by herself.
I don't like Courtney, I think her best "work" was written by Kurt and Billy Corgan, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna buy into some crackheaded conspiracy theory that she has people killed. If that was true, I think there would be a hell of a LOT more dead people, because I'm pretty sure more than half of the people who know her hate her.

Writing a riff or helping with a chord change is not what I would call "writing her music". Courtney is a lyricist, and has written every word since day one. Billy Corgan is a great musician, but a terrible lyricist, so there is no way in hell he wrote any of Courtneys lyrics. It's called a collaboration. If you are going to criticise Courtney for it, then you should criticise almost every musician.

Just like Courtney herself, her lyrics have NO DEPTH…only the illusion of it. Also, it's hard to enjoy the music of a sociopath who offed Kurt and then has been milking his "suicide" for all it's worth ever since.

This is not a crackhead conspiracy theory - it's a failure of the investigating authorities to do their job. There are at least three dead people in Courtney's wake: Kurt, Kristen and "El Duce", and all dying under suspicious circumstances. I suggest you do a little research and engage your critical thinking skills. You may not come to the same conclusion I have, but this isn't lunatic fringe stuff - It's a SERIOUS allegation, with EVIDENCE to back it up.
Perhaps you should ask yourself why Courtney has not sued any of the proponents of this theory, when she sues anyone who looks at her funny? You know when it comes to defamation, the truth is the ultimate defense.
