Umhm Perez. But its Martin Luther King Day. Not Gay Day…. So chill fool.

    2. 2

      AMEN!

    3. 3

Perez~ Dont single out just gays and lesbians….ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL….

    4. 4

MARTIN LUTHER KING jr DID A LOT FOR THE BLACKS not just of america but also of the WORLD :-)

    5. 5

Are you trying to compare the struggle of African Americans to the "Gay"Struggle. I mean granted, they have had unfair injustices, but you're gonna compare that to what Martin Luther King jr. was preaching about? Because last time I checked, Gays were never made into slaves, denied the right to vote, had to drink at seperate fountains, restraurents, go to seperate schools, denied the right to vote…etc.etc.etc….Not to mention I don't think MLK Jr. would have agreed with gay marriage considering he was a religious man and minister. Secondly they have all the "rights" mentioned above. Except the right to get married, and there is a reason for that.Asshole.

    6. 6

Perez and Gang…I truly heart you for this post, it is in my opinion your best yet.

    7. 7

Sorry to burst your bubble Perez but MLK was a Baptist minister. I doubt he'd ever lobby for GAY rights.

    8. 8

And that his people raised their own kids, went to school and didn't count on welfare as the only other option than rapping. Unfortunately, his dream is now a nightmare with black not even able to take care of themselves.

    9. 9

can't wait for the gay mlk

    10. 10

      those 2 dreams rock!

    11. 11

WTF!!dont ever mention his name AGAIN!!I have a dream that one day they will find a cure for the desease called homosexuality.

    12. 12

Re: AudreyArellano – And that his people raised their own kids, went to school and didn't count on welfare as the only other option than rapping. Unfortunately, his dream is now a nightmare with black not even able to take care of themselves.

Although my parents aren't married they both came together to raise me. I'm currently finishing up my last year of university & my parents did not count on welfare to raise me…Sorry to burst your bubble but I don't fit into your "stereotype of a black person"…

    13. 13

I'm sure most people don't realize this but MLK was a Republican. The democrats have done everything in their power to make them seem to be the party for civil rights; however, the majority of the democrats voted against the civil rights bill that the REPUBLICANS championed.

      15

perez, come on ! stop comparing your struggles with the struggles of the african american. they're not the same journey. so it's MLK day and let's leave it at that.

    16. 16

THIS WAS A QUOTE BY CORETTA SCOTT KING MLKJ's WIFE.

"I still hear people say that I should not be talking about the rights of lesbian and gay people and I should stick to the issue of racial justice… But I hasten to remind them that Martin Luther King, Jr., said, 'Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere' … I appeal to everyone who believes in Martin Luther King, Jr.'s dream to make room at the table of brotherhood and sisterhood for lesbian and gay people." THIS WAS A QUOTE BY CORRETTA SCOTT KING MLKJ's WIFE.

    17. 17

      That's not my dream.

    18. 18

Gays gets on my nerves trying to compare gay civil rights to the one of african americans civil rights. it so ridiculous and it holds no merit. Gays can do just about anything in this country except get married and in some places adopted. Blacks had it way worse and as a gay man i think we need to be grateful we have the rights we do have. In some countries we are executed so just shut up about it.

    19. 19

dude i get where you are going with this, but MLK was not only black he was a baptist minister, a baptist MINISTER! something tells me he wasnt down for the gay cause.

    20. 20

Audrey you are fucking retarded for your comment. What about the White trash that made trailor parks famous (and keep 'em up & running)? A lot of those honkeys are on Welfare, ya know.

    21. 21

Re: cina04 – then he would have been a HYPOCRITE! you can't ask for equality and then leave out a large group of people! I'm sure MLK JR would have been a supporter of gay marriage however I doubt he would have been as vocal as he was about equality for blacks!

    22. 22

Listen, dipshit: The blacks endured slavery and years of being less than second-class citizens. To use MLK Jr. in the way you have is an abomination. He did indeed want equality for all, but at no time did he address what some people do with their genitals. Your self-absorbed, stupid ass needs kicked.

    23. 23

      aaawwh… i cry when watching this:$

    24. 24

Oh perez, you couldn't even reread this before posting to make sure you said gays AND lesbians.
You never cease to… amaze me. Seriously, could you be any more perpetual. Yes, equal rights for all, but show MLK some more appreciation.

    25. 25

I agree with what "jessicatandyismyhero" said……..you're such a fool Perez.

    26. 26

Comparing racial equality to sexual preferences is a big slap to the face of anyone that fought for civil rights.

    27. 27

    28. 28

BTW idiots like Perez love to compare the gay rights movement to the racial one only because it attempts to paint anyone that isn't all for it as if they were racists like those for slavery was. It's a dishonest bigoted comparison at best.

If your cause was so just Mario, you'd not have to revert to bigoted dishonesty to "spread the word" It would hold up on it's own like the racial movement did.

    29. 29

FUCK YOU PEREZ, YOU ARE CLEARLY ANTI BLACK, YOU URSELF CLAIMED YOU WANTED TO CALL wILiAM A NI&&ER. UR A DICK BITCH. BY THE WAY THEY ARE CLOSING THE PARK YOU GO TO FOR GAY SEX.

    30. 30

Re: jessicatandyismyhero – I agree, last I checked, no one was not hiring gay white men based on their skin tone. when ur a person of color and I mean hispanic or black the first thing they see is the color of your skin not your sexuality. a gay John Daly will called for a job based on his name alone than a jashon jackson.

    31. 31

Re: sticktocelebritynewsidiot – how about a lot of republicans were very active members of the KKK, look in to that.

    32. 32

I humble myself to respectfully say in remembrance of Dr. Martin Luther King, "Thank you for the personal sacrifices that you made to further the development of our social and moral structures. We have all benefitted from your vision and from your struggle."

    33. 33

Re: vaniknoxville – white trash honkeys were are the original welfare recipients and thats only because their white brothers and sisters made and passed laws were looking out for their white trash brothers and sisters. you think they would have ever started welfare if it was just black ppl who needed the help. blacks need to demand their reparations.

    34. 34

Happy Birthday Martin Luther king Day America!
This amazing man changed the world for the better.
Thank you Dr Martin Luther King!!

    35. 35

Wow, way to compare two totally different things Perez.
Get your head out of your ass, there is more to life than gay/lesbians rights.

    36. Lucas says – reply to this

      36

Hey, P - I don't recall him saying that. Today we represent his work to end racial segregation and racial discrimination through civil disobedience and other non-violent means — while also noticing his efforts on ending poverty and opposing the Vietnam War, both from a religious perspective.

But of course you had to turn his day into a gay thang didn't ya!

    37. 37

ohhh f you martin luther king im sure could care less about gays or lesbians
he was standing up for those african americans that were struggling
im sure you gays struggle wayy to much (sarcasm)
you need to calm down because african americans were not equal to others for 100 or more years before martin luther king made that speech homosexuality was considered a mental illnes untill 1992 you guys are asking for too much its too soon .this gay rights thing is nothing like the racial movement stop making it seem like it is ,i dont see people telling you to sit in the back of the bus ,or having to go to seperate schools, and drink off of seperate water fountains labeled "straights" and "gays" wtf is wrong with you . Im sure if you went up to him and asked him to speak about gay rights he would laugh in your face, yes he did talk about equal rights but im sure he was refering to race and not gays you dipshit. Also you think a person like you could change what people think about gays? your everything that people dont like about gays, you think its cute for famous people to be scared that you talk about them and then still try and stand up for equal rights? no it does not work like that.

    38. 38

Perez is the "GAY" MLK, maybe someday the "queer" nation we have a holiday for him too!

    39. Laury says – reply to this

      39

Everything has to be about the gays with you, right Perez?

    40. 40

Aww…. August 25th, 1963 was a day before Michael Jacksons 5th b-day!!! Sorry, had to make that comment. Happy Martin Luther King day!!!

    41. 41

      Re:B-MoreBabe
MLKJ had nothing to do with Gay Rights, let's just leave it at that. He deserves more respect for what he did do rather than Perez trying to make this a GAY thing. Just to make you happy I'm sure MLKJ would have had love for Gay people even if he didn't agree with their lifestyle choice.

    42. 42

Re: jessicatandyismyhero – honestly you think african americans had to go through that ALONE? if you wanna call sombody out on how ignorant they're being, check yourself. My Grandfather being a spanish man could walk into a white man's store looking white himself and come out with better food for his mexican friends who were also colored.because they had to shop at the same store's african americans did,and there stores got old meat and rotten milk! How dare you think the world was ONLY black and white, dont forget the hispanics or the asians,or the indians.

    43. 43

Oh and one more thing,i dont think anybody could compare the struggle of the African Americans to the Jews.

    44. 44

      Happy b day Dr. King!!!!
Perez fuck you AND your gay rights dreamz. Dr. King stood for something relevant in our history to allow blacks to be able to live and persue dreamz just the same az whites. Gay marriage iz absurd and against God. The people who TRUELY love God want no part in the steady plumet to hell because of all you degenerates.

    45. 45

    46. 46

Re: AudreyArellano – Omg, shuit your stupid insanely ignorant piss hole. People like YOU are a disgrace to this country and deserve to be lined up and shot. I am a black woman who wantz to persue a dream of going to school and makeing a life for me and my child the right way. Stop generalizing blacks because I can name PLENTY of whites who mooch off the government.

    47. 47

How dare you Perez- Not the same cause but still, how dare you. You couldn't even give a apology for your use of the word fa**ot and all cuz you are gay and think that by being gay you have a right to use freedom of speech how you want. That day never will come cuz of people like you. You are no different than those scumbags you speak of all the time that hate gays.

    48. 48

gays are scum in the usa

    49. 49

Happy Martin Luther King Day everyone!
      Peace,
      Sheba

    50. 50

Whooooaaa…why not just take this post for what it is? An acknowledgement of one of the greatest Americans to ever live. We should be celebrating his legacy through service, not arguing about it. Get out there and serve people! Have a blessed day!

    51. npc25 says – reply to this

      51

RIGHT AND YOU PUSH OUR FIGHT BACK 25 YEARS EVERYTIME YOU OPEN YOUR MOUTH. MAYBE IF YOU WERENT DRAWING DICKS ON MENS FACE'S PEOPLE WOULDnt have as many reasons to make fun of gays.

    52. 52

See that is one of the reasons why alot of African Americans voted for Prop 8. If gays keep comparing themselves to the struggles of AA then you'll never get gay marriage. I'm all for gay marriage but stop the comparison!

    53. 53

Re: Blair 2010 – Where did the work "honkey" come from anyway?

    54. 54

really perez? r u friggen stupid?
don't compare gays to what the african americans dealt with.

    55. 55

Re: AudreyArellano – really? are you really that ignorant?

    56. 56

"I have a dream that one day this nation will RISE UP AND LIVE OUT THE TRUE MEANING of its creed: 'We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.'"
      =
It will come as a great surprise to many of you but one of Dr. King's inner circle was BAYARD RUSTIN, a gay man. Rustin the main organizer of the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, where Dr. King delivered his 'Dream' speech. He counseled Martin Luther King, Jr. on the techniques of nonviolent resistance. He became an advocate on behalf of gay and lesbian causes in the latter part of his career.

    57. 57

Re: AudreyArellano – its sad to see that ppl still think like u…

    58. 58

HOW DISGUSTING,SICK AND PATHETIC IT IS THAT YOU COMPARE THE GREAT STRUGGLES OF THE AFRICAN AMERICAN PEOPLE FOR REAL EQUALITY WITH THE SELFISHNESS OF THE LGBT LOBBY, PERVY.

    59. 59

actually, if Martin Luther King was alive today he would probably be AGAINST the "homosexual marriage", since he was a baptist pastor.

    60. 60

With all the redneck psychos out there on xtian talk radio, I'm predicting
the next assinsatiion. NO progress, just devolution back to knuckle draggin
mouth breathin red neck flaming swamp dwellin creatures. Oh, happy mlk day.
      They are already there

    61. 61

Thanks for comparing what blacks went through to what gays are "going through".
I feel you're too stupid to know that's called sarcasm & you're an idiot for comparing the two.
I'm for gay rights, but I would never say that they're comparable.

    62. 62

      Re: amberilaugh
Bitch are you comparing Hitler and the struggle of the holocaust on this now too? You do realize this has nothing to due with jews or mexicans or native americans or asians right? Secondly that didn't happen in the United States you historically inacurate dumbass. Thirdly, the topic of the day is MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. Not a Spanish, Native American, Or Jewish Prominent figure. DO-YOU-UNDERSTAND? And trying to compare African American Struggle to Jews or any other minority struggle is like trying to compare Apples and Oranges. Yes, what Jews in the Holocaust( WHICH HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE TOPIC Btw)went through, was horrible, but so is what happen to Emmit Till. And countless other African Americans back then. However thats not the topic is it?Please stop trying to act like you're trying to come off intellectual proactive in some sort of equality superiority for all when you are coming off extremely IGNORANT.

    63. 63

Why do you have to compare every freaking thing to lesbians and gays..? Shit, you're fucking annoying. It's Martin Luther King day, just let this day be what it is!

    64. 64

Re: AudreyArellano – You're a nasty racist bitch. Its funny how you ppl think all black ppl can't take care of themselves, when many of us won't accept handouts for many reasons (like welfare and financial aid). You're fucking disgusting, and I hope you die soon. Happy MLK day bigot :)

    65. 65

      Re: amberilaugh
And just to clarify I am half choctaw, and when my grandfather was young he had to go to an all Native American School. But you know, this isn't about Native Americans is it? Thats not the topic is it?Idiot.

    66. 66

      Re: jessicatandyismyhero
      Snap Snap !!
Thank you MLK for everything you've done for all of us as a people.
Perez the gay rights stuggle is incomparable to the civil rights movement and you know it so plz just stop making everything about gays or lady gaga.

    67. 67

BLACKS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO VOTE IN MY OPINION

    68. 68

Re: jessicatandyismyhero – I agree with all you said, except "There is a reason for that". Back then, people said "Blacks can't vote, and there is a reason for that. Asshole." But they were wrong.

    69. 69

Re: LisaLu – thats simple my dear, it came from whites driving around in ugly big trucks honking their horns like hillbillies. :)

    70. 70

Considering in TODAYS time gays are the last frontier and last people treated equally and everyone else DOES have equal rights…it's perfectly relevant to apply a speech regarding equality toward a group of the population not experiencing full equality. Unless that happens…gays will CONTINUE to speak loudly about it! And all you perez haters, find a new home! You will NOT be missed. This is a gay mans blog, who has control over the content on HIS blog..don't like it? buh-bye. Don't let the reload button hit you on the way out.

    71. 71

Well, blacks are not suffering today…are they? heck no. Gays are the ones suffering today, and it's mainly because of many ignorant black voters who took away gay rights but want to sit here and preach about their equality. You already got your equality. Our President is black..no more playing the race card. And just because someones struggle for equality is not as great as the next person doesn't mean they're not struggling. Isn't it amazing the very people who were opressed yesterday are now the most homophobic opressers today? The gay community is not a silent or weak one..that's for sure!

    72. 72

Re: h8terboi – You should not be allowed to breathe, what a total twat, how do you justify a comment like that you cu*t!

    73. 73

Re: Wawawiwa – 71 & 72 Civil rights are civil rights; while the oppressed population may have a different face the motivation to change and the desired outcome is the same now for the gay community as was for the community of color then. "Equality" means no less in 2010 than it did in 1963.

    74. 74

Re jessicatandyismyhero's comment: VERY WELL SAID!

    75. 75

Why do African Americans refer to themselves as such? WE ARE OVER 400 YEARS REMOVED FROM AFRICA. If you, your father, your grandfather, your great grandfather, your great great great great grandfather resides/resided in America, you are a BLACK AMERICAN!!! God…I don't know a stitch of any tribal dialect, don't have a tribe, can't trace my ancestry back to Africa, but I can trace it back to some slave plantation. My ancestors lived and bled and worked this land. I am a fucking American. And as soon as dumb ass black people realize this and come to terms with this and be proud of themselves, have respect for themselves, love themselves, who the hell cares about some racist ass.

    76. 76

      Re: Kelbie
Actually, "Racists" whites in power believed that blacks should not have the right to vote and were treated less than human. All humans are created equal. No one race is better than the other. Even the bible says that. The bible also says homosexuality is wrong and of course gay marriage would be beyond wrong. Therefore, that won't go away. This issue is out of racist ignorance. Gay marriage being wrong is a belief and can be traced back to a source written many centuries ago for that belief. Giving a substantial reason for denying blacks the right to vote can not. And Dr. MLK Jr. being a religious man as well as many people do not believe or agree with it as such. Now would he agree to base homosexuals, probably not. But that doesn't mean he'd agree to them having the right to marry like a man and woman. Get over it. And he wasn't preaching about Gay Struggle. You just have to understand that. Nor do I think he ever would. He was preaching about racial equality.

    77. 77

      Re: lillbit
Why do they have to be called "black" american? And my guess would be because yea, they may not be from Africa, but they are an African decent. Secondly everytime you fill out a form where it says "race" there is no "black"
"white" whatever race. its specific.Thats just how it is. It's better than being called something else. Know what I mean?

    78. 78

i recognise gays need equal rights in marriage etc. but its hardly the same as when americans lynched black people, they had to be totally seperate etc.
