SuBo Snubbed At Brit Awards?!
Just because she's had the #1 album in the UK and the States, doesn't mean she gets special treatment!
It seems Susan Boyle will not get her greatly anticipated nomination for the Brit Awards this year and it's all Simon's fault.
According to The Daily Mail, the snub is a veiled attack on Simon Cowell!
"She's not even shortlisted for Best Female, even though that's usually the weakest category," claims a source. "And it's not just an attack on Susan. It also shows how Simon Cowell is regarded by many in the record business."
Warner Music is also furious at the decision! Other successful acts on their label, such as Muse and Michael Buble, will also cease to be recognized!
"It's disgusting. She has done more for the British record industry this year than anyone else," continued the source.
She just may not be hip enough!
"The problem for the Brits is they're supposed to be a celebration of British music - and cool," an industry insider claims. "And, whatever anyone thinks of Susan Boyle, she certainly isn't cool."

The whole Susan Boyle BGT video was a little inspiring…even brought a tear to my eye while watching it, but she quickly became a media sensation and eventually delivered a lackluster album. It's still selling well, because people haven't gotten over the hype, but just as Gregorian monks, boy bands, Latin crossover pop stars, and American Idol winners were once the big deal, her star power will eventually fade in favor of whatever the next big thing is.
Rather than a reflection on Susan, it just shows that the BritAwards organization is made up of the same ugly-minded ilk that sneered at her in the beginning.
Er, her album was released in November, so it's not eligible for this year's BRITs.

Shows how out of touch they are with both the public and the musicians who love Susan Boyle's voice–From Streisand to Gaga. Those of us who buy Susan's CD's don't do it because she wins contests or awards, but because she has an incredibly beautiful voice. Quite a few more of us than the clueless critics.
I believe KISS was poised to make it to a historic #1 slot, but our Susan Boyle kept that from happening.

Thousands of recording artists sing covers… Nothing unusual in that…. At least Susan Boyle is honest and gets on with it…. So those who like to slag her, get a blooming life…. The people who judge these awards are actual musicians. Susan Boyle is no different than any other celebrity with a gimmick- only instead of being young and hot, she has a heartwarming story. That doesn't make her good. Amen to what kaylazx said- quality over quantity!

She's a pleasant enough lady… She has a nice voice… She won a contest… This is her first album…
Is she necessarily 'award worthy' at this point? Probably not. This is one moment in time and though very sweet, I doubt her career will translate into a second successful offering. I do wish her the best though and hope that the second half of her life is more pleasant than the first. She is living her dream, and how wonderful if we could all follow suit!
