Brittany Murphy's Husband: The Drugs Were Mine!

While we all still wait for the toxicology report, Simon Monjack has come out to say that the copious amounts of medication found at his home the day of Brittany Murphy's death were all his, not his wife's.
Among the medications reportedly found at the Los Angeles home were: Methylprednisolone, an anti-inflammatory, Fluoxetine, an antidepressant, Klonopin, a seizure medication, Carbamazepine, a medication to treat diabetes and also bipolar disorder, Ativan, an anxiety medication, and Vicoprofen, a pain killer.
Seeing as Simon is an oral cancer survivor, he says he suffers from migraines and seizures as well as a heart condition, thus the need for so much medication. But he also admits that he did share his medications with Brittany and her mother, Sharon. Brittany supposedly liked to take Vicoprofen to relieve pain from severe menstrual cramps.
We can't imagine them being that bad!
Is this your way of attempting to clear your name, Simon? Making excuses to cover up what might come up in the toxicology report?
Shady shady!

Yeah, right …..
Sleeze!
hes panicking….it seems like
Believe me, period pains can be "that bad".
what a sexist fat pig you are! unless you have ever had cramps, you will never know how bad they can be. i get them so bad that the pain goes up my back and down my legs, as well as in my tummy. and i get dizzy spells. SO SHUT UP PEREZ U ASSHOLE.
Carbamazepine is an anti-epileptic drug and can also be used to treat mood disorders and neuralgia. It is not used to treat diabetes.
All in all though, it sounds suspicious. With all the mood disorder medications and anti-anxiety pills, clearly one of them suffered from a mood disorder.
as a woman, i can vouch for the fact that menstrual cramps can definitely be severe enough to take major pain meds!
And if we looked in your medicine chest Pervez we'd find: Ex-lax (family bonus sized carton) Dulcolax ( extra strength) and 5 industrial power enemas–maybe a little baggie of cocaine too bb ??
Who knows what to believe-but menstrual cramps really CAN be that bad-I used to get them so severely I had to run a hot back and sit in it for an hour just to get relief, as well as take tons of meds that didn't work. If you're a girl-you can relate.
Sad, sad in any event.
Perez…my menstrual cramps feel like Im being attacked and stabbed with a bunch of knives in my stomach. Tylenol and Midol is like water in my body. Ive always taken vicodin for my cramps. Nothing else could help them as much. So yes…..it is very likely to believe that Brittany had HORRIBLE cramps. Beacuse I know how it feels.
this guy stinks to high heaven of all kinds of guilty bullshit. i hope the cops are watching him very closely. he will fuck up soon enough.
Shut up Perez! I've passed out from menstrual cramps, the pain was so bad. You're such a heartless fuck… I pray that the toxicology results proves you wrong, you awefull moron…
You don't have a uterus. You have no idea how excruciating cramps can be. Dick.
whats with this shit? leave the man alone and let him grieve, fucking painting a new widow as a murderer? i mean how low can you go

Trust me cramps can be that bad for some women. Now whether this was the case in this situation there is no telling, but ask any women who suffers from endometriosis they can be excruciating.
For once I think you're right Perez! This sleazeball is trying to clear his name before the test results come in! Thats why he keeps saying all of this now! Simon and Brittany's mother are both trying to cover their asses!! VERY shady!!!
These disgusting Hollywood drug addicts are very good at making up phony stories to cover their asses when they get caught. This fat idiot will go back to his drugs and hopefully die before he gets to spend his inheritance. What a fat, dumb disgrace….
you can't imagine cramps being that bad? i think we're all glad you're not a woman you fat fuck
you "can't imagine them being that bad"?
gawd, perez, you're such a typical MALE.
of COURSE you have no idea what menstrual cramps are like! They can be debilitating, and in 10-15% of women are so severe that they have to take time off of work or school.
don't go trivializing other people's problems if you know nothing about them.
and carbamazepine is an anti-epileptic, not a diabetes medication.
you can't imagine them being that bad? until you've had a period, please just shut it!
"We can't imagine them being that bad!"
OF COURSE YOU CAN'T! YOU NEVER HAD THEM, MALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DU-UH.
There seems to be a mistake with your pharmaceutical research, carbamazepine is an anticonvulsant and a mood stabilizing drug, it's main indications are epilepsy and bipolar disorder, and trigeminal neuraglia. It is in no form indicated for diabetes.
Cheers
how do you know how bad menstrual cramps can be.. who the hell are you to judge?
how would you know that menstral craps can't be that bad? before i had my son my menstrual cramps each month felt like labor my family is known for severe cramps maybe she is too…but i do think he's full of S***
You can't imagine menstrual cramps being bad enough for pain meds? When's the last time you had a period Perez? You talk out of your ass and it shows, you spew shit everywhere !!!
Hmmm…… methinks one should shut up, IF one's hands were clean …Know what I'm say'n … ?
Maybe she had endometriosis, which could cause terrible pain during her period. What the fuck do you know about periods anyway, Mario? It's not like she was taking oxycodone or percocet for her periods. Nothing should be said until the toxicology report.
ummm …yea, he probably is tryin to cover up before anyone asks the questions. however, menstrual cramps really CAN be THAT painful ! i know women who are bedridden for DAYS, so maybe there is some truth to it …
You can't imagine menstrual cramps being bad enough for pain meds? When's the last time you had a period Perez? You talk out of your ass and it shows, you spew shit everywhere !!!
You can't imagine menstrual cramps being bad enough for pain meds? When's the last time you had a period Perez? You talk out of your ass and it shows, you spew shit everywhere !!!`!!!
Klonopin is NOT an antidepressant you idiot fuck. It's dangerous, when discussing such medications, to incorrectly report what they are used for. Klonopin is used to control seizures in epilepsy and for the treatment of panic disorder. It is NEVER given for depression.
And I correct myself - I read your post wrong. Am not above admitting I am wrong. You listed the drug Klonopin's use correctly.
I've had enough of this shyt perez let the women rest in peace and for god sake leave her husband alone your making fun of a cancer survivor that's patheic Perez or who ever writes these blogs nowadays..
obviously you've never been a woman so maybe you shouldn't comment on what you don't understand
oh and by the way when i get my period sometimes their so bad I can't even get out of bed or do anything so you have no fukin clue!!!!!!!!!!!!
uh huh. Now, after weeks of denying Brittney's drug abuse this is his disclaimer because tox reports are going to come out and make him either sound like a liar or someone who didn't know his wife very well. I'm bettin on liar.
Re: rebecaariot. – Wow! You got cramps and PMS at the same time right now? Go take a lap, Honey.
And I know many women who take painkillers (hydrocodone, Vicoprofen, etc) for menstrual cramps. The pain can be unbelievable for some women and the administration of such drugs is indeed a viable treatment. You have no idea and no right to judge people who choose this treatment. Women's issues go much further than just a cramp here and there every month when nature calls. Some women have severe and uncontrollable issues. Educate yourself, Mario, before you pass judgment.
Re: marie-eve – Save your prayers for something that actually matters, say….like getting that job you need
Perez, period cramps sent me to the hospital numerous times!!
If they weren't bad, she shouldn't have taken them, obviously.
But if they were that bad, she could have gotten a prescription, like I did.
It's not hard.
Actually, some people do suffer from severe menstrual cramps. Only men have never experienced that, so they have no idea. Maybe not the right choice of medication for that, but meh, what ever makes you feel better. Trust me, it sucks.
Brittany was one of my favorite young actresses, what a tragic loss of a talented person at such a young age.
Re: Lafemme22 – Its also used to treat diabetes insipidus which may be the reason he stated for diabetes
Re: realLindsayBlohan – honestly that is so obnoxious, who would want to read this if this is how you promote it
Not that I believe a thing this guy says, but let me just say- Yes, cramps can be THAT fucking bad. What a dumb thing to say. You think women just curl in a ball and wither due to a little ouchie? Men stay the stupidest shit.
I have taken Percocet (oxycodone) for years to relieve severe pelvic pain. If Brittany had endometriosis, dysmenorrhea, or any number of pelvic issues she absolutely could have taken Vicoprofen for cramps. I love you, Perez, but don't comment on something you know absolutely nothing about. Leave the period talk to the ladies, my friend.
Re: Smooch77 – uhh no klonopins for anxiety not seizures silly people
Yes, cramps can be that awful. Until you actually have a period and spend days puking from the severity of the pain, you have no right to comment on that particular topic.
Wow, Perez, you of all people should know your drugs better.
Vicoprofen is NOT a drug of abuse. It is Ibprofen based with a 5-15mg of codeine. If she wanted to abuse something, she could have EASILY asked for something stronger, as almost EVERY other pain medication is stronger.
Your little "update" (unsubstantiated, by the way) doesn't provide ANY links that she was abusing drugs.
Sure, we all think her husband is a shady sleaze bag who held back her full potential, but if she was getting high, we would know about it.
Leave her reputation alone, it was sullied by her marriage to him anyway.
As a male how would you know how bad period pains can be? I've been hospitalised several times, have had several surgeries and have to be on major painkillers once a month, because yes, they can be that bad. Unless you have experienced PMDD or PMS or severe menstrual issues, you are not qualified to make a judgement about just "how bad" they can be. I'm not judging Ms Murphy's husband, at this point, until we know more, I think we should keep our judgements to ourselves until the reports come back. But to make a flippant comment like that is judgemental and ignorant and until you have been in that situation where you are in such extreme pains that you are being hospitalised you really aren't in a position to judge.
perez, unless you get your period, don't go there. you have NO idea
Periods not that bad? May you be reincarnated as a woman, Perez.
I hope u sues the Shit out of u MARiO For insinuating he caused his wifes death.
They can actually be "that bad" unfortunatley…many women self medicate to do whatever they can to relieve the pain from cramps. Maybe the word cramps is what misleads you gentlemen…
Perez doesn't care about you.
Ativan is also used to treat seizures, especially during an attack. Sounds like a pretty basic collection of drugs that are commonly used by current cancer patients or by cancer survivors to me. I have lots of patients who are prescribed all of those drugs together.
Honestly, that's nothing…nada….can't accept that even if she took all those meds, at the same time that it would kill her. I'm 41, work injury at 33 that left me disabled, then a heart attack six months after injury. I've been on 2 heart meds daily along with, 120 oxycontins (80mg per tablet), 120 tylenol 4's, 80 ativan (2 mg) and 25mg amitriptyline daily per month for the last 8 years. I'm a legal opiate addict and yes, many times due to various excuses run out of pain meds after only 1-2 weeks….so doesn't take rocket science to figure out I take WAYYYY too much, too often….and I weigh less than 115lbs. On a good day I have more opiates and benzos in my system than DJ AM did when he died. Even with a bad heart I'm not dead yet. Something else had to be wrong, even if she were an addict she had only herself to blame.
Asshole Perez. How would you know how bad cramps are? You're an idiot. Also, carbamazepine is NOT used for diabetes or depression. Where do you get your information from? It's used for seizures as well as nerve pain - mostly in the area of the mouth. You suck.
what the fuck would Perez know about period pain? You're an idiot.
perez…don't you date downplay cramps. i went off the pill a few months ago on my doctor's advice and OMFG the menstural cramps are a million times worse now than they ever were when i was on the pill. twice this week alone they have hit me so hard and suddenly i hit the floor in pain. and today at work i had to close my office door so no one would walk in on my hunched over in agony and hyperventilating.
fuck you and your half-assed opinion about WOMEN'S ISSUES!
Re: cocomoco – It can be used to treat seizures, but yes most people use it for anxiety.
Dudes are not allowed to make any value judgments with respect to menstrual pain. And yes, it IS that bad. As are the accompanying migraines.
Re: Xandria – I agree with you, as most of those medications listed were anticonvulsants, and it's very difficult to have a fatal overdose from them. In fact near to impossible, so unless she took months worth of his anticonvulsants, she died from something else.
Have you ever been in so much pain that you're throwing up and almost passing out every time you try to move? Yeah, they can be THAT bad
I take 2 10mg Lortabs on the day I start my period because if I don't I'd be writhing on the floor in tears. I dare someone to try to stop me.
Because she was a beautiful actress and died young everyone assumes Brittany Murphy overdosed on something before they know all the facts. Maybe it was the prescription medication; any medication is a small risk, especially in combination with an illness. I think making Simon Monjack a villain in this story is a way for Perez to perpetuate this idea that Brittany Murphy would be alive if she did not have a drug problem which Monjack supposedly tolerated and encouraged. Perhaps a more appropriate target for your anger would be the pharmaceutical companies that made the drugs that Murphy took, if they were not as convenient to blame than a widow husband.
Don't you just love it when Perez has something incredibly nasty to say and hides it until the end? He's the kind of guy to kick you and then run. And btw, Perez, she WAS a diabetic - juvenile diabetes, which is a very severe form. That very well may be what did her in. Duh.
Re: LRC – Not sure if this is a troll or not, but Vicoprofen IS a drug of abuse — a very common one in fact. And it is not codeine, it is hydrocodone. It's a pretty strong dose of hydrocodone, a very addicting opiate.
I guess that gay men can be JUST as stoopidly sexist as straight ones, eh?
Unless you have a period you have no opinion on the pain that one feels when you have them….They SUCK and if men had them they would probly get disability checks for them…BULL SHIT!
Perez, I am deeply offended by your lame, ignorant and insensitive comment regarding period pains. I suffered from severe endometriosis for many years - and it wasn't unusual to be rendered nearly unconscious from the agony. My condition was so dire it necessitated a complete hysterectomy. For once in your life - please - THINK before you speak - or blog!!!
poor perez. i guess you have never had a period before. don't speak of pain that you know nothing about. pain! you have never felt pain like a horrific period before. a brick would work, too
cramps can be that bad oh believe me.
As others have mentioned, cramps certainly CAN be that bad…I am 33 years old and have dealt with a menstrual disorder for nearly 20 years now. Sometimes the pain is so bad I have to rock back and forth or resort to prescription meds myself. I can't go to work, eat, drive, or ANYTHING for at least the first two days because it feels like I will die. So please before you judge or say things, do your research!!
Um, cramps can be a bitch Perez. I realize your vagina is only fictional, but some are so painful that actual vicodin is prescribed instead of vicuprofin. don't hate!
i think the majority of women and vouch for the fact that menstrual pains CAN be that bad that you need that kind of meds, so don't say YOU can't imagine them being that bad.
God you r a douche! Don't speak unless you have experienced yourself! Cramps can be so bad you would crawl around on the ground in pain! So imagine it asshole!
Like you would know shit about menstral cramps. I know people who have passed out, thrown up, had hot and cold spells, been curled up on a bathroom floor, and more, because of cramps. So don't talk shit about something you clearly have NO idea about.
Re: Lafemme22 –
My knowledge is limited to pain management/anxiety meds (and veterinary medicine, in my previous life). Since my injury I have run an animal rescue/wildlife rehab out of my home since it's the only thing I can take my own time doing while stoned, keeps my mind occupied and have the pleasure of volunteers! Antibiotics, antihelmetics and anti-inflammatorys are the norm around here with the rescues/rehabs.
You clearly know your pharmacology
Normally I like Perez, but lately he just repeats popular/unpopular opinion instead of giving his previously charismatic yet sardonic opinion. Might as well just read a newspaper with a bad editorial….
Her husband may have been an unpopular asshole with a sleazy history, but unless he physically caused her death shouldn't be judged under any circumstances. With her mother living with them I'd find it difficult to swallow. Even if he had scripts for drugs, and she wanted to take them, I bet my druggie ass she would find a way with or without his knowledge….end of.
Sue the bastard Perez who dishes out any lies he can find!
Excuse me??? Pretty recently I was throwing up and had passed out because the pain was so excruciating so don't even try to say that you "couldn't imagine them being that bad". You have no idea so unless you have the vagina that everyone knows you wish you had, you shouldn't talk about that.
You can't imagine cramps "being that bad" b/c you don't have them!!! So, don't throw in your 2 cents until you have!! And Klonopin is also used like Ativan–to treat anxiety, as well…it's just a slower-acting medication… But, why would her husband just randomly say this, unless he feels he has something to hide…if they were prescribed to HIM and they find them in HER system, then he should definitely worry…and the fact that he's given them to Brittany and her mother?! Something's definitely up…
I
I think this family is protesting a BIT TOO MUCH, don't ya' think?
ok , i have taken my boyfriends medication before for some things, rare instances, etc.
im certain other people have too.
doesnt mean he was responsible for her death.
also all of those medications seem to be deemed reasonable for both of their disorders. diabetes, some pain, and possibly anxiety. nothing out of the ordinary
You're a dude, and I use that term loosely, you have ZERO idea how bad cramps can be. I take vicodin for them too
Perez. You'll never know what it is like to have severe menstrual cramps. Many times I find myself WISHING I had something a little extra other than Midol. I really don't think that is something YOU, as a male, can assume. You'll NEVER know the pain we go through. That being said, I still think she accidentally over-dosed on meds.
Re: tigrrrlilly – On this we can agree, this guy is a rotten sob!
Period cramps can be that bad. Speaking from experience.
cramps can be excruciating!
Shut the fuck up! You have NO IDEA how bad cramps can be! Vicodin/Vicoprofen are commonly prescribed for cramps.
Seriously, Vics are NOT that strong. They are for mild to moderate pain.
That is a typical male response to a womans pain. "Can't be that bad". Some women suffer from pain worse than that of childbirth for most of their adult lives. Dibilitating pain that prevents them from being able to function for days, and this happens Every Month. Don't talk about what you don't know.
Re: mistressfaerie – I just popped into the site and was reading comments about one second away from typing up endometriosis. I suffered from it since I was 20 (26 years old now) and had two surgeries to slow down the process. I've also had to be on Depo Lupron (anyone hot???). The cramps from those, I was taking Norco. A vicodin brother that was stronger, before I even had surgery. At one point, the pain was so bad I was admitted to the hospital and IV'ed morphine. I HATE, FUCKING HATE boys and stupid bloggers who talk about "cramps" like they know. She could very well have suffered from endometriosis or PCOS. Some cramp so hard they bleed out and need iron supplements when they have a period.
first of all carbamazepine is antiepileptic, not anti-deabetic med. Perez doesnt know his meds. Whatever other meds they found, those are regular prescription meds that pretty much everyone in beverly hills or studio city gets! what's the big deal? Brittany murphy before that was in moscow and got messed up there like on extasy or coke or whatever else and here poor heart couldn't take it. anyone who dies from cardiac arrest at the very young age - it is from drug abuse. (or severe anorexia, she still was not to the point of SEVERE anorexia coz those people are like 50 pounds).
Re: cocomoco – It's for both.
Re: magentapyramid – I feel for you. My doctor and I are discussing partial with hopes to still manage the issues. I'm scared of a total. My aunt had one at 24 for the same reasons. I wasn't looking forward to HRT when I was 50 and to think I need it at 30 scares the bejebus out of me. It can't be worse than the Depo Lupron though. My doc wants to keep me RO's in as long as possible because my family also has a double whammy to include osteoporosis.
Why couldn't this pathetic parasite get a job and not leech off of his wife? What's he going to do now that his mealticket is gone? The money from selling off all her things and selling her story to movie producers will run out soon enough. Her mother Sharon just seems lost and sad and weak….just like her daughter was. Men like this pathetic parasite prey on the lost and sad and weak.
Klonopin is also used to treat panic attacks. Whoever is being prescribed all of these meds has some serious mental health problems…sad.
