Idol Ratings Are Up!

simonwenn2692004.jpg

It's the last time we'll all get to see Simon Cowell rip losers who think they can sing a new one.

Guess America is feeling nostalgic.

American Idol's ratings sky-rocketed last night, going up 33% from last year's telecast and completely leaving every other program in the dust. Sources say that never in television history has a show going into their ninth season pulled in such gains in ratings.

Simon is sure to go out on a very high note!

it doesn't take a genius to figure out what'll happen to those ratings once he's gone

      It's because Ellen is coming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    3. 3

I'm a big idol fan.. But everyone knows the audition weeks are the most entertaining to watch.

Great bout the ratings though, regardless of the reasons.

Didnt you say that its all about Glee this year? and you dont want to watch idol because you cant wait untill Glee starts again?
IDOL RATINGS ARE UP! and your opinions dont matter (i love glee btw).
I miss Paula i never thought she was needed in idol untill she actually left :( .
Since there is no bickering between Paula and Simon anymore
Ellen needs to get her ass there already because shes a funny woman and she needs to spice it up.

That's because SHANIA was on it!!!!! Ya! Real talent for once on the show!

Could the huge ratings have anything to do with the famous guest judge that was on last night? Shania's huge fan base has been dying to see her in the public eye again. Personally, I am very impressed by Shania as a AI judge - guest or permanent, and I looking forward to see/hear more of her. She is beautiful, inside and out.

It is because everything else was a repeat, such as NCIS.

    8. 8

Last night's ratings, however, were down nearly 6-million from the season premiere last week … how do you spin that one?

    9. 9

Bwah! Look at the Paula "Idol is going to TANK without her" fans spinning. As for the "It dropped six million from last tuesdsay(actually it only dropped about 3 to 4), it ALWAYS drops in the second week of auditions. This is nothing new, and it happened when Princess Paula was on the program as well. Even if NCIS were new, the show would have still landed in the early to mid twenties and you know it.

Face it, only one person's leaving has the potential to damage Idol's ratings.
      Hint: It aint Paula.

      Shania.
Plus they had a preview trailer, so people tuned in.

Shania should be a permanent judge on the show that will lose all fans.. They need her now! Kinda like Kara over Paula but once Simon leaves its done…

    13. 13

Being a talented singer does not mean automatically being a good judge. Shania was even more irritating than Kara. What with all the giggling and Shania's embarrassing comments about lips and bottoms,it was unbearable. She and Kara are completely useless, with their ambivalent and repetitive mindless comments. When Simon leaves, it will all be over.

Proving that no one cares about Paula.

I wasn't one of those watching. The ratings jump is only because there's absolutely NOTHING else on tv. I'm so bored with tv these days that I just watch reruns of good shows that used to be on - like Friends and Seinfeld. All the new shows suck and the ones I actually like are only on for short periods at a time (Survivor, Big Brother are two examples). And then the huge lull for 90210 & Melrose has completely made me lose interest in them. TV sucks these days - I should cancel my cable subscription and save some money.
