Idol Will Continue Post Simon!
Although Simon Cowell will be leaving American Idol to launch The X Factor in the States, CKX, the parent company to 19 Entertainment, is expecting to renew the contract for the hit show.
"As talented as Cowell is…'Idol's' future with this long-term extension is guaranteed," said CKX's CEO Robert Sillerman.
He continued to call the ratings of Idol premiere week "spectacular," and although there has been substantial viewership declines, a cancellation "is not the case for 'Idol.'"
And everyone is excited for new judge Ellen DeGeneres to make her debut!
When asked about the extension of the show Fox entertainment chairman Peter Rice said, "Our expectation is that 'Idol' will run for many, many, many, many, many more seasons."
We'll see!

NBC Slams Conan Again!
I don't know who they can get to replace Simon who will be as brutally honest. And I am not excited at all about Ellen. I have nothing against her she just doesn't seem right for it. Should have been someone in the music business.

BETS ON XFACTOR (US) ONLY CUZ NO-TALENT SIMON WILL BE JUDGE. CANT WAIT TO HEAR BOTH PAULA AND CHERYL COLE TALK STUPID. COURSE CHERYL WILL WIN CUZ SHE HAS THE MORONIC GEORDIE ACCENT.
Well…I won't watch once Simon is gone. Once he's gone, it will become just another talent competition…which is pretty much what it is anyway. Plus, I wonder how this will affect the tryouts. Most contestants only care about what Simon thinks and not the other judges.
I haven't watched it since Season One…but I'm sure the diehard fans will not turn their backs on it just because that ass is leaving…if anything, Ellen will bring MORE viewers!! So long, Simon!!
I quit watching this year. Yeah, I know Paula was a bit kooky at times but they did her wrong! I can't stand Kara & adding her last year was so obvious but yet they denied she was Paula's replacement. AI is so boring and predictable now….*yawn*
American Idol can survive without Paula but it certainly can't survive without Simon. That show is doomed.

OR they can continue still produce it for "nobody´s watching" (means not able to get even aprox. 30-40 % of ratings as before) …well, technically still possible but it´s too expensive for the network…

"Idol" even though it's been going downward (not quality wise- it always sucked ass) for the past 5 seasons, is still by far the biggest show on television, usually by more then 10 million viewers. Even if we get fatigued, "Idol" will still be running, because it makes so much goddamn money.
Listen, I'm not a huge fan, but you constantly say that the show is dying. It's the highest rated show on TV. I mean, that's like saying the Super Bowl is dying cuz it's ratings are off by 3%. You always say how this how is dying, yet it's the highest rated show on TV. Not sure what your angel is but at least report the truth. God knows if you boy Lambert held a concert on his own and got 1/2 of their ratings you'd be all over it… It's so easy to see through…
Well I have to say that so far, I am loving the heck out of not having that dimwit Paula on there. Kara has also been much more entertaining and has visibly relaxed. I just don't think I can hang in there once Simon leaves though. He may be brutal, but most of his predictions and/or comments are right on about that person. Simon made Idol what it is and won't be the same without him. I'm gonna enjoy this season as much as possible.
