Jay-Z And Bono To Record Song For Haiti!
Quite the unlikely pairing, but we like to see everyone working together!
Producer Swizz Beatz got in touch with both Jay-Z and Bono to record a charity single for Haiti and the earthquake relief effort.
Swizz tweeted:
"ME , BONO ,HOVA, HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY ABOUT HAITI STAY TUNNED I TOLD YOU I WAS WORKING ON SOMETHING AMAZING FOR HAITI THEY NEED US!!!!!!"
U2's guitarist The Edge elaborated on the project:
"Last night we wrote a song. Bono got a call from a producer, Swizz. He and Jay-Z wanted to do something for Haiti. So, Bono came up with the phrase on the phone, and last night we were here, we wrote a song - finished, recorded and send (sic) back to them. So, that might be the next thing you hear from us!"
We can't wait to hear it AND see the impact it makes on Haiti!

Why the hell is Bono always involved in this kind of stuff? Bono, is it possible that your willingness to spit out a song for every cause imaginable has resulted in you making too much music which led to you believing in quantity and not quality? Start making GOOD music again and THEN start sharing some of those songs with starving marvins.
probably just like 'we are the world' one of the WORST songs in history (its in my head, oh no,oh no.) they sent food to africa from the supposed profits, made us all feel happy and the FOOD ALL ROTTEN ON THE DOCKS OF UGANDA. because the dictator would not let the food go out to his people. they starved anyway. No one seems to know about that. a big waste of money, time, and famine disease goes on in africa. Oh , lets not forget about hands across america. what was that for???????
Instead of torturing us with your crap music, just donate a couple of million each - you can both afford it!

i was REALLY excited for this until i found out Rihanna was gonna be in the song too…. she just has to ruin everything. i appreciate her helping out and everything but i really don't wanna hear her voice especially since this is a cause helping my family in Haiti. Beyoncé should sing!!

They'd be better off helping fund an organization that would help Haitians learn how to be a self-supporting society when they eventually bounce back from this disaster and get back to business as usual. Pre-earthquake, Haiti only produced 45% of the food needed to sustain their population, but Jay-Z and Bono didn't give a shit then, because it wasn't the Cause Du Jour.
What Haiti needs are long-term solutions and obvious long-term focused attention, not songs, and not movie stars taking PR photos cradling bloodied babies.
"We are the world" didn't do shit for Africa, I know, I've been there. These stars may look like saints, but there's very little real impact when they get involved, they bring the cameras but not the solutions.
Unlikely pairing? They performed together in Berlin last month at the 'Berlin Wall' thingy.
