Robert Pattinson is being looked at as a potential star for FOX 2000's adaptation of Sara Gruen's novel Water for Elephants.

The flick already has Reese Witherspoon attached and execs are in the middle of securing Sean Penn!

These are Oscar winners, Robert. Make sure to take a shower before meeting with them!

      Good for Robert! He really is a great actor if you disregard his performance in New Moon. And this seems like something I would see regardless if he was in it or not :)

      I LOVE that book. I would guess that he would be the central character the vet who joins the circus and Reese the love interest ~ pony girl. I love it!

      I think they would both be great in those roles, especially Reese. If they're securing Sean Penn to play Reese's husband that's a great role for him, he is a complete dbag drunkass angry old man - he doesn't even have to act.

      i havent read this book so not sure if he is a good canidate for this film or not, but i do belive if you take away all the "Twilight" crap he doesnt seem to be to bad at acting, but he will have his work cut out for him because Sean Penn is a wonderful established actor, so good luck to you Mr. Patterson, btw he is kinda hot! hehe

      P Ratz has already stared along side Reese before in Vanity Fair…before harry potter although his scene was cut from the final movie…I think you can see it on the DVD though…or maybe on youtube.

      So cool! Sara Gruen wrote that book during NaNoWriMo (national novel writing month -www.nanowrimo.org)!! So cool that fellow participants are getting so much recognition!

      I think this is great news. I agree with some the acting in NM wasn't that good I think it was the script. But, with that said…I've seen his other movies and I think Rob is going to be a great actor. I think he is just starting to tap into the his range. I'm soooo happy for him. Now he is getting roles with true raw talent (Remember Me, Bel Ami) now this movie he will see and experience what real acting is like. GO ROB!!!! I have to pick-up this book over the weekend so I can start reading it.

      OMGGGG!!! this is SO perfect. One of the most incredible novels i've ever read - Rpatz is perfect for the main vet character, and reese is perfect for marlena as well. I WANT THEM TO START FILMING!!!!!!!!!!!!

      For the last time, Perez, RPattz is sweet-smelling like a daisy unlike you who looks more like a hobo with your colored hair and pants. Get a stylist will you and stop the bashing on RPattz good hygiene. That's so old news which was not even true. You are so stupid for believing it in the first place. Reese needs RPattz more than RPattz needs her simply because Reese' career is not as hot as RPattz is right now. So, please get a reality check, Perez. We all know that everyone including you wants a piece of that hot and talented British vampire.

      After all the interviews Rob has given saying he was just joking about his hygiene being bad I think we should get over the stereotype now. Everyone who has worked with him says he does not have any problems with hygiene and always comes to work smelling good. WTH?
