Shakira Will Build A New School For Haitian Children!
How kind!
The ever lovely Shakira announced this morning her initiative to have a new school built in Haiti through her Barefoot Foundation.
Her foundation will partner with Architecture for Humanity to build the school and as well as work with NGO partners to provide education, school feeding, clean water and sanitation services. Of her efforts, Shakira says:
“There is a great need for immediate aid in Haiti, but also for longer-term reconstruction. For that reason, we are doing our small part to help Haiti rebuild and give the children affected by this disaster the chance to learn and thrive. I hope we can use some of what we’ve learned working in Colombia to help Haiti’s children recover. When we educate children we empower societies, and right now Haiti needs all of our help.”

Nice she is saying it. doubt it is going to happen anytime soon. alot of people are saying things, but what can happen down there…. look at all that has to be removed before anything can be rebuilt… and someone, some country must make sure that Haiti has some sort of building codes this time…. earthquakes are not common, but hurricanes, flooding.
Isnt this a bit premature? There are dead bodies all over the capital, people that cannot be reached for food, peple that need immediate sugeries, and peple still missing.
Building a school is the last thing on anybody's mind.
Make sure the school can withstand a 6.5 earthquake should be the main concern when building the school.

Why is it whenever a celebrity does something generous, people feel the need to criticize? Unless you are out there building schools in developing countries, it may be best to just keep quiet on this one.
