In the worst casting move the studio could have ever made, Kellan Lutz was passed over for the lead role in Conan The Barbarian. Instead, Jason Momoa from Stargate Atlantis has been given the role after the director found him to be very "Schwarzenegger-like."
Your loss, Hollywood. You know what kind of money you would have made off of Twi-Hards seeing this film if you had casted Kellan?
You just lost yourself thousands, some of which would have come from our own pocket!

I dont know too much about either of these guys but I can say that pretty much everyone in the Twilight movies, CAN'T ACT. If I had to pick a strong actor from the lot it would be the dad, the vampire doctor. This Kellan guy, all he does is stnad around, walk a little bit, tells the chick I put a stereo in your car happy birthday and that's it. He's a dillweed, all those kids are. Why put a huge character in his hands like CONAN. Not a big Conan fan but its a well known character. I can't justify giving it to him becuase he was in a teeny bopper movie and Perez Hilton wants to suck him off. This other guy, Stargate guy, never heard of him, but if he's been on a long running action sci fi series, I would put my dollar on him being able to read lines, act and kick out the jams on an action scene or two. You're a teenage girl trapped inside a fat mans body Perez, stick with what you know. It certainly isn't isn't action packed guy flicks.
jason is not only a great actor, but a great guy. im sure the nay-sayers will back down once they see him slay this role!

I don't see either of them being a good fit for the role. Kellan would have to undergo a MAJOR transformation and do some serious bulking up. The other guy is going to have to bulk up too, but at least he looks a little more rough around the edges and not as pretty as Kellan.
perhaps they wanted to cast based on talent, and not looks. You ever consider that? These twilight actors aren't being taken seriously yet because the movies suck so bad. I'm sure their target audience for the remake is older than 12. Kellan appeals to 12 year old little girls, not grown ups. I guess that makes you a 12 year old girl, Perez!

The Stargate franchise (the Stargate movie, Stargate SG-1 original series, the Stargate The Ark of Truth movie, the Stargate Continuum movie, the Stargate Infinity series [Twilight may have a manga, but Stargate has a cartoon!], the Stargate Atlantis spin off series, the Stargate Universe spin off series, and the soon to be released Stargate Extinction and Stargate Revolution movies) is huge, more than Twilight will ever be. It's almost of the level on Star Trek. 'Gaters love Stargate just as much as Trekkies love Star Trek. In addition to TV series and movies, the Stargate franchise has expanded into other media, including books, video games, and comic books. Stargate SG-1 was the longest running science fiction series in history. I mean, come on, how many series get TWO spin offs, while still being WILDLY successfull? Stargate has much more to offer than just a couple of pale, good looking boys & one horribly twitchy & stuttering excuse for an actress.
As for Jason Momoa, it's known that when they were casting for the roll of Ronan Dex, they went through a slew of actors, and has almost given up hope until they saw Jason's audition tape and right away knew that they had found the actor with the physical presence and the acting ability necessary. And hey, he started off at eye candy on Baywatch. He definitely has the body to pull off Conan. So, all in all, Perez, don't mess with a 'Gater.
