Spencer Speaks Now!
We hadn't heard anything from Heidi Montag's husband Spencer Pratt about her cosmetic surgery, but now he is speaking out in support of his wife.
Spencer wasn't always in favor of Heidi's decisions for plastic surgery, but he did stand by his wife's choices saying:
"Anytime I hinted that it might be a little much or if I just asked if she was sure, I even felt like I was crossing lines. I'm not in charge of what she does with any part of her body. I'm her husband – not her owner.
"But everyone sees themselves differently when they look in the mirror. Nobody truly understands how she feels except her. I may not be okay with things, but it's not my call."
Spencer was apparently a good husband to Heidi nursing her back to health after being in recovery for more than 7 weeks. He said it was "the worst experience" of his life to see Heidi right after the surgery because she was suffering so much. "Nobody that loves a loved one should see that."
As for Heidi, she's glad that Spencer was there to support her:
"At the end of the day we do share a same opinion: It's my body and I need to feel comfortable as a woman, as a person, and my inner beauty is always there and that's what's most important.
"His support has really been a lot and made such a difference. I couldn't ask for more."
We'll see what he thinks when she goes back for more — because you know she will!
We may have this generation's Jocelyn Wildenstein on our hands if she's not careful!

If you watch, you know Heidi is VERY strong willed. Look at how she almost lost everything holding on to Spencer. If he didn't agree with her, they would have been divorced. (Notice how he didn't mention he loved her new look. HA). Heidi, you look much more older, I don't agree with it, but if you feel more confident as a woman, more power to ya. Banging body by the way VERY banging body. The face, you didn't need to touch.
a 'good' husband? that is what a spouse does. and as for her looking bad, feeling bad after surgery, let us again be reminder-THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH HER, SHE DID NOT NEED THE SURGERY. It is not like she was in a car accident, had facial deformities, was shot, or anything like that. SHE decided to do this to herself. Before someone has that much plastic, okay, body alteration surgery, (indifference to J. dickenson, so we don't think she will one day MELT), they should be required to undergo a certain amount of therapy. Heidi does not like herself and certainly does not truely believe what she preaches about God and beauty coming from within.
Poor Spencer! I had a boyfriend who got some plastic surgery, and it was awful for me to see him in pain. Spencer seems tooooo nice. I think if he matures he is going to get sick of this, OR Speidi may never die. Hollywoods oldest couple?

He's right-it wasn't his decision, I wonder how he feels about the results… I gotta say, if someone I loved and was used to seeing daily came back one day looking completely different I'd be a bit spooked, I don't even think she looks that great, too plastic…it's sad

A little hard to hump up tons of sympathy for someone who signed up for recreational surgery. Take a tour of a real hospital, there you'll find people deserving of sympathy who are truly suffering. And if her "inner beauty is what really matters", then what the eff did she waste the $$$$$ and seven weeks of her life doing this for? She's a big zero, and I'm glad I don't know her.

I'm so tired of Heidi preaching about how "Godly" she is. She has no idea how much shes f'ing up young girls egos.

Spencer is an enabler of BDD, body dysmorphic disorder. He needs to read any book by Katharine A. Phillips, MD. Surgery does not improve symptoms of BDD but makes BDD symptoms worse! They mirror check the corrections at lengths end and the fixations just move around from body part to body part. Clearly this has happened to Heidi from the 1st surgery to the 2nd surgeries. Therefore, you can see that more surgery doesn't help but makes the fixations worse and move around! Also people with BDD are never satisfied with the surgeries. Doctors do not have a duty to screen for BDD in the US, which is HORRIBLE! Laws need to be enacted. Dr. Ryan does not have her best interest at heart. He only wanted a big fat paycheck! Heidi please RUN from all plastic surgeons, cosmetic dermatology or medical spa treatments. Only then can you accept yourself and begin to treat your BDD.

great words HOWEVER, you could've told her she was beautiful as is (that is, before all the surgeries). That may be HER body that she needs to feel good about, but he has a lot of influence over her and he may have been able to help deter her from going under the knife.

This will end in divorce within 3 years. Without doubt. She has totally changed her face, the guy now wakes up next to a completely different person!!! Thats fucked up. I feel for her entire family, they have a new daughter, new wife…. whats she has done to herself is hideous. She was a really pretty girl, she had a great charasmatic face which you identified as hers. Now she looks like plastic, some freaky little sindy doll… its not normal for a pretty girl of 23 who looked youthful (her age) to want so much surgery that its left her looking like all the older hollywood women in their 40/50's…. these proceedures have aged her big time, she fucked up.
This may be the one and only time everyone looks at Spencer with any level of respect. But I still see this divorce coming from a mile away. She'll get more surgeries done, and he may get a minor kick out of it for a while, but soon he'll probably want someone a little more natural and ditch Heidi for someone that looks HUMAN.
Also, I was just wondering…what's gonna happen with all that surgery if Heidi gains weight or gets pregnant (GOD FORBID!)?? That can't be remotely good. But I know little to nothing about these types of surgeries, nor do I care much for them.

It's amazing how stupid she is. Actions speak louder than words and just because she says "beauty is within" (another cliche) doesn't mean she believes it. It's obvious she doesn't believe it. She probably did it to promote her "music."
He missed out on a golden opportunity to get some good publicity by putting her on "intervention", she is a prime candidate for Body Dismorphic and that would have brought some attention to that form of disorder. She has always been very weak and obsessed about her looks.
If someone you love is hurting themselves because of an unhealthy obsession with their appearance it is more than ok to do everything in your power to stop them. Just like friends don't let friends drink and drive, loved ones don't let loved ones fix (actually break) what isn't broken. It's not about a woman's choice over her body when she is mentally ill and putting herself at serious risk for medical complications.
I say this as a woman recovering from my own issues with body image.
Nothing Spencer said here is mature or worthy. Remember when Heidi told him she thought she was preggo? Spencer reacted with something like "I'm not going to tell you what to do with your body." WHAT THE F&cK!!! It could have been his kid!!! Same problem here. He's saying the exact same phrase. Allowing and enabling her to f*uck up her face!!! I do think this will break them apart. He will find some other young thing and Heidi will be left in the cold with her disfigured face.

Just a thought: before getting drastic facial reconstruction, wouldn't it be better for candidates to go through the same counseling process as someone getting a sex change? It seems she was pretty determined to get the surgery, but shouldn't she have discussed this thoroughly with her family and a professional counselor? She'll be stuck with this new face for life; I hope she chose the surgery for the right reasons. There is no turning back.
Since when does Spencer care about crossing lines? Seriously!! Getting a vasectomy or buying a house before asking your wife - these are crossing lines, not telling your gorgeous 23 yr old wife that she absolutely does not need plastic surgery.
^So true. The amount of time she said she was researching and analyzing millions of photos of herself should have been spend on reading about the disorder of BDD. People with BDD are obsessed with photographs of themselves. Constantly comparing themselves to old photographs. No surgery will stop this kind of obsession and ruminating, it will only make it worse. Heidi is in for a life of sheer hell unless she addresses this disorder psychiatrically and psychologically.
Wow! I can't believe I'm actually agreeing with Spencer! He's her husband, not her keeper. I think anyone would understand though, if going forward he had strong opposing opinions on his wife's need for plastic surgery. It is rather odd to keep wanting to "have things done" to your outward appearance, while claiming to value "your inner beauty". Just a thought.

Doesn't anybody else think it's kinda funny that he said she was suffering sort of like she was in a car wreck or broke her leg or something that she didn't ask for. She is unbelievable, when asked what message she was sending to young girls her reply was something about inner beauty. How is that, she is the most shallow , superficial human being out there. After a thousand fake,staged photo ops, "pictures don't lie" she said she couldn't smile on the red carpet. How so? It is my belief that she was never insecure but rather, I'm so beautiful, can you imagine how I would look if???? Now is the time to be insecure, just read her body language, she does not look better,only waxy, her nose is overdone, her cheeks from the side view stick out too much, she no longer has a a spark in her eyes, and her over size lips make her teeth look weird. I think every time she looks in the mirror she feels a loss and a sence of grief, for what she has lost , she will never get back.
