American Idol hopeful, Michael Lynche (aka Big Mike), may never forgive his father!

The contestant make the Top 24 this season, but was booted over the weekend for violating the confidentiality rules. Mike's father told a local newspaper that his son made the semifinals, but has since been replaced by another singer in the final 50.

Spoke too soon. Better luck next year, hun!

      wow thats not fair!
      its not the kids fought, its the fathers :( he shouldnt be punished just because he dad made a mistake.

      Jumped the shark? this show was pooped out by the shark from the git-go.

      Kara is still annoying. I actually miss Paula. Shania Twain was a breath of fresh air. Bring her back!

      He broke the agreement by telling his father so it is his own fault.

      Moral of the story: when you sign a contract, you are bound by its terms.

      It's tough on the young man, but he trusted someone who proved himself to be unreliable.

      Yeah but if Fox didn't fire him - no one would have noticed or cared. And now that they did fire him, Perez makes light of it so the damage is already done. We know he makes it to the semi's (whatever that even means). I wouldn't have known had Fox not fired the guy.

      That's just cruel. Who cares that much anyway? They could have denied it, and then just made people wait and see. How to crush a young man for an excited and proud father's error. Parents and kids can be close, and some don't keep secrets from each other. Surely this could have been handled differently, such as a severe warning that next time he would be booted. These aren't business people who have been around the network mill. I'm not impressed, although I get it. I just don't like it.

      Classic case of self-sabotage.
      .
      He knew that his treacherous father would sabotage him.
      .
      So, when he told his treacherous father, he was sabotaging himself.
      .
      Many parents are envious of their kids. Marvin Gaye's father (a minister - of course, why not?) shot him in the stomach and killed him. A result of years of smoldering envy.
      .
      This is an old story. Happens all the time.

      It would take me along time to get over that one “““` no doubt!! I wonder if the Dad signed an agreement and than told the paper? Messed up, if he did, and blabbed. Maybe jealous of his kid???
