Martha Stewart, queen of domestication, has thrown her hat into the ring for the soon to be vacant American Idol judge seat. When asked why she thought she would be ideal for the job, she said because she was "fair."
That's nice, but they already have a blonde with no musical background to play the "fair" card. What they need is a ruthless, unforgiving judgemental mind to tell these wannabe stars the real deal.

I think Martha would be an odd choice as an Idol judge, however anyone who thinks she couldn't pull off "ruthless, unforgiving" & "judgmental" is nuts. I love Martha, but she's far scarier than Simon could ever hope to be, IMO.

The whole purpose of A.I. is to have music professionals evaluate the talent and give outspoken and honest opinions! Why should we watch these personalities try to give unsubstantiated feedback? We may like 'em but that's not enough. Maybe this contest gets by now lacking credibility but not in my book.
