Guess he's getting too old for this!

Along with Vikings cornerback Antoine Winfield, Brett Favre has also pulled out of the NFL Pro Bowl citing injury.

The legendary player will be replaced by Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and joined by Mike Jenkins, who will be filling in for Winfield.

How much longer do U think Favre is gonna last in the NFL?!

    Maybe if the Saints defense didn't play dirty, Favre wouldn't have to pull out of the pro bowl.

  2. 2

    He's not too old!!! Brett has actually had the best season of his ENTIRE career! He got hit 15 times when the Vikings played the Saints the other night…I'm sure YOU would be re-couping too … I mean, you got punched ONE TIME and cried about it! Brett Favre is AWESOME!

  3. 3

    If you actually watched the game and saw the hits he took on Sunday, then you wouldn't want him to play either. I respect his decision, and I don't think he's doing it because he's getting "old." He took a beating in that game, and if I was in his place, I wouldn't play either.

  4. 4

    I think He's got one more good cry in Him…

  5. 5

    considering he's coming off his best season yet and that he's 40 — i'd like to see him give it one more year

  6. 6

    Favre… -_-

  7. 7

    can you really blame him? poor guy got ravaged in that game.

  8. 8

    In my opinion, he took quite a beating during that game! I would be shocked if he wasn't injured to the point where it hurts to play! I think the real drama here relates to if he is going to play for the Vikings again next year!

  9. 9

    Old is the worst label someone can get put on a person these days. Other groups have overcome, while old folks are expected to sit on the sidelines and just die. F-that. If the NFL says he has mad skillz and Brett wants to play, I say play dude and overcome!

  10. 10

    are you kidding me with Romo? that guy sucks so bad, the only reason he got a pro bowl invite is he's got a great PR team that manages to somehow make him look like a decent QB when he is really awful.

    as for Brett, not surprised, he got pounded on in the Saints game, hit 16 times and couple of those were vicious! but hey he's a big boy and knows its part of the game, just b/c he's 40 doesn't mean the other guys are going to take it easy on him.

    i give 1 more year then he's retired for real and for good…probably b/c someone lay a major injury on him he can't sanp back from like he did in the old days. that said, he was fucking awesome this season.

  11. 11

    He did take a massive beating on Sunday. This time you are just being a jerk Perez. ACCKK to you!

  12. 12

    If you had actually watched the game, Perez, you would have seen that he got beat up. ALOT. So yeah, go ahead and pull out.

  13. 13

    ~~~~UM….FYI FAVRE NEVER PLAYS IN THE PRO BOWL. HE'S TOO GOOD FOR THAT.~~~~
    14
    Farve will be back for another year. And yes, had Perez actually watched the football game, he would know why Brett Farve is injured!
  15. 15
    Forever, at least in his head. I would have hit him too. Hold the state of Mn. hostage just like Wisco. We have a saying about pulling a FAVRE. What an EGO!!!
  16. 16
    The Pro Bowl is pointless anyway, why do they even do it, especially BEFORE the Super Bowl?
  17. 17
    Brett doesn't need another Pro Bowl under his belt, especially after the dirty tackles he took against the Saints. Rest up bb! See you next year! Skol Vikings!
  18. 18
    i like how prob 10 % of people on this site are the ones only ones that know shit about football.
  19. 19
    Re: irsmrt – I agree 100%!All the "All star" games like the NFL,NHL,NbA or MLB are boring and I always skip them!
    The Saints deserve to go But on Sunday The Saints did not beat Brett!With 3 pics and two fumbles ,Brett beat Brett!It was amazing it wasn't a blow out.I only hope the superbowl is as exciting.I know you'll only watch the over the top commercials Mario and not the game(Nimrod!)
  20. 20
    He's good for one more.. No one wants to retire on an interception
  21. 21
    don't report sports unless you know it. he announced his retirement the morning after the nfc game. HOWEVER this is the 3rd year in a row hes announced his retirement and always seems to come back
  22. 22
    Re: myjah – v maybe if YOU watched the game you could spell favres last name
  23. 23
    Dirty South Saints defense played dirty and Brett took massive hits including the one below the knees. Anyway he's too good for probowl anyway. Plus why is pro bowl before the super bowl this year?
    P.S. Does anyone else think Brett Favre is the US version of David Beckham? HOTT SILVER FOX!!!!
  24. 24
    Re: caitlin1013 – totally agree!
  25. 25
    He didn't say he wasn't coming back. He said it was highly unlikely, but there is still plenty of time for him to change his mind, like you said he has retired before.
  26. 26
    I freaking love Brett Favre and he got his ass beat down Sunday night, he thought his ankle was broke and played anyways. He is a living legend!
  27. 27
    First of all, and I usually agree wit you perez, brett favre is one of the best players of all time. Had you watched the game against the saints you would realize favre was the only person keeping the vikings in that game. The late game hit below the legs would take out any quarterback, regardless of how young they are, and Favre got back in the game. There wasn't a single person rooting against Favre because he is an American hero and one of the most positive examples of the good that can come from hard work and determination. If Favre is pulling out of the Pro-Bowl it is because he is physically incapable. Because, as we all know, Favre can take twenty years worth of hits and keep on playing. Think before you attack an American legend.
  28. 28
    Re: kbest3
    maybe you shouldn't report on sports since you obviously don't know either.
    Favre has NOT announced whether or not he will retire yet.
  29. 29
    Brett is amazing. If he was "too old" and such a "diva" he would have had Chilly put Tavaris in after the 5th hit, not to mention he stayed in the game after hurting his ankle. I hope he comes back next year
  30. 30
    Don't care how old he is, I'd hit it HARD.
  31. 31
    Um, yeah he's injured!! Did you see the hits he sustained during Sunday's game OMG! Poor Brett. You KNOW his ankle is messed-up!
  32. 32
    Plus it's not like the probowl is in Hawaii anymore….
  33. 33
    "There wasn't a single person rooting against Favre because he is an American hero and one of the most positive examples of the good that can come from hard work and determination."
    You HAVE to be joking me. I was sitting in a room with at least 30 other people, all cheering when they thought Favre broke an ankle. That guy is an ass hole who let down an entire state. People in Wisconsin were ready to get his name tattooed on their foreheads and then he betrayed them by going to their arch rivals AFTER he retired… honestly, fuck him. I hope he breaks his ankle for real next time.
  34. LxMxO says – reply to this
    34
    For an old guy, he bounced back for the first half of the last game. But he's getting too old to be able to do that. He should have retired… two years ago like he was supposed to. i may be a bitter betty about him, but he's a egotistical ethan.
  35. 35
    He dropped out of the Pro Bowl because after that last INT (the apex of his career) he probably has plans to go on a 6 month Vicodin/Jack Daniels bender. I predict he will wake up from his haze in late August and sign on for another 10 mil. and f*ck another teams season.
  36. 36
    Favre is the greatest QB that has ever played. He plays with passion and fun. If you watched the game you know he hurt his ankle. Of all the replacements Romo to me would be on the bottom. I had to laugh, when MN was going to play Dallas, someone brought up having Jessica S. sing the Anthem on the Dallas sidelines, said it would totally make Romo shakey, turns out the Vikes didn't need any extta help.
  37. 37
    it's not because he's old, you jackass, he got seriously injured during the nfc championship game he brought his team to. if you knew anything about football, perez, you'd know what an acomplishment that was.
  38. 38
    Not you too…Favre is all that football analysts talk about its nauseating.
  39. 39
    Lol @ the people going "omfg the saints played so dirty!!!! they hit him too much!!!!" DUDE. It's football. He's the quarterback, for christ sake! And it's the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME. Do you really expect any defense to go easy on him because he's Brett fucking Favre?
  40. 40
    Re: starofthebunch – Oh please! You and all the others were hoping he broke his ankle because the Vikings were obviously the better players in that game. They beat themselves by the fumbles, but if it weren't for that the Saints in no way could have beat them. Did you even see the stats? Pretty lame when you have to hurt the QB because you know he's better than you! :) Go Vikes! I hope Favre is back next season! Keep it up!
  41. Mtl23 says – reply to this
    41
    He got the shit beat out of him on Sunday. He hurt his leg pretty bad, and got hit in the face pretty good too I think. He needs to heal! Shut up Perez He may be old but he can still throw the ball.
  42. 42
    If the Vikings were such better players why did they fumble the ball so much and why did Favre throw an interception in the 4th quarter when they could have scored? He made a HUGE mistake and btw, as a QB you know you're going to get tackled when you've got the ball and no protection. Their mistakes cost them the game, that doesn't make the Saints dirty, that makes the Vikings stupid.
    43
    He's got many years left, but if his offensive line can't protect him, than he should retire for real this time - i don't want to see him hurt.
  44. Laura says – reply to this
    44
    playing dirty = hitting the QB even after the ball is gone, many times over. Messed up game = refs let it go, pass interference my ass.
  45. 45
    Re: JayRock – Amen. If he had run three yards - CLEAR yards, there was no one around him - instead of throwing away the ball, they'd be going to the Super Bowl. Stupid move that cost them the game.
  46. 46
    He knows exactly whats up. He's been in the NFL for 100 years. He should know that you take a beating.
  47. 47
    Re: meeagler – Lol
  48. 48
    maybe if the saints didn't try to injure favre, this wouldn't be the case. very upsetting. hope the saints are proud of their dirty playing. i'm now rooting for the colts, come superbowl.
  49. 49
    Brett Favre is such an inspiration! he is a hero and I hope he comes back next year if no one stopped him at 40 what is one more year to Favre! GO BRETT !!!
  50. 50
    Re: jen333 – If they were the better players they must have won right? oh, wait…
  51. 51
    Feel sorry for Favre, but Romo deserves to be a Pro Bowler also! Happy Mike Jenkins will get a chance too, eventhough I still feel he should have made the Pro Bowl team much earlier
