      I don't get it, I just don't get it… People are so dumb… Our kids are going to look back and wonder what we were all thinking, denying ppl their rights, just because of their sexuality.

      My city is just not ready for that…Even common people are generally homophobic here…I am not ( btw I am straight) but many of my friends are…

      He actually represents the majority view here…Sad but that´s a fact

      Re: Enzito2007 – Well, they can reproduce in several ways. Adoption (so many babies out there), or use a surrogate mother). I've seen many gay couples adopt and surrogate, and it turned out very nice. Of course it's easier on the women — just find them some sperm and a turkey baster and viola :)

Though to be honest (and I am gay), I can see how someone might not want (not necessarily this man) younger children exposed to the things that go on in a gay parade. I believe in freedom of expression, but let's face it, some of the things that go on in a gay parade aren't always appropriate for on lookers or just people passing by trying to get home.

      It's good laws are moving forward, however people's minds aren't always moving forward. There will always be someone to disagree with someone else on something, no matter what the issue may be.

      As for homosexuality being a satanic, I wouldn't go that far…, but that is that man's town, and I guess if people don't like it, they should leave, they did elect him after all.

But I'm sure the comment translated into Russian better than it did in English? Haha, who knows. I think if anything it was insensitive.

      I am American, and I'm personally offended by your statement alone, saying WE push, I don't push anything. In fact I hate that this blogger shoves homosexuality in everyone's face. But then again this is his blog and what he chooses to do on his blog is his business and we as readers have the choice to not come, or skip over. I, personally am gay and I also respect the traditional sanctification of what a marriage is. I believe in equal rights, but I believe the word "marriage" is a heterosexual term.

      Ok, let me put it in different way "I dislike that America - politicians, newspapers, etc force 'their' values on other countries and cultures". I believe that on personal level you don't force your opinion on others, just like many other individuals. But being Russian in North America, I can see how in general US views Russia as evil country, just because we are different.

      I just believe that we are all different individuals, and cannot expect others to feel same way. And on top of that we have completely different cultures - Russians are really not "in your face" about sexuality, no matter straight or gay - we leave that stuff for bedroom (in general)
      I agree that gay parade would be unappropriate and dangerous in Russia, but that doesn't mean that I hate gays.

      Russia is a member of the Council of Europe.
      Over 50 years ago, the Council of Europe put into force the European Convention on Human Rights.
      Protocol 8 gives the right to privacy, meaning people can be of any sexuality they want and it also prohibits the banning of private homosexual acts.
      Protocol 11 grants everyone in Europe the right to peaceful assembly.
      Banning a pride parade is a violation of human rights in Europe, face it.
