Katy Gets Fiesty With Kara On Idol!

Sharing judging duties with Simon, Randy, and Kara last night on American Idol was Katy Perry. Things were going smoothly, until Katy got fed up with Kara during one of the hopeful's auditions.
The girls disagreed over the guy's talent, Kara calling the contestant one of her favorites, while Katy wasn't impressed. In an attempt to get Katy to take her said, Kara rattled off the guy's story of hardship, to which Katy replied: "This isn't a Lifetime movie."
After that, there was a noticeable tension in the room and Kara had to concede that Katy had "told" her!
Guess we shouldn't expect her to be invited back next year?

Katy should KICK Kara's ass….Kara is the worst judge ever and very irritating. I got a whole new appreciation for Katy last night, and hate Avril even more. She was a like little teeny bopper thinking she knew what she was doing and didn't. None of her damn business what people do for a living or telling them how stressful touring is…judge them on talent stupid bitch…and Kara went along with her. Two idiots! Go Katy

Katy was awful on the show.. It was like.. she was trying to be a bitch. She would argue just for the sake of arguing. And she definitely made it uncomfortable.
while i think katy was quite right in saying so, if someone wasn't up to par, i think she could have been less bitchy or saved it for when the contestant was out of the room. because basically she just knocked the poor guys confidence more and probably made him feel awkward. its probably hard enough to audition for american idol without people being like that.

Katy came off like such a diva bitch on AI and she does not have the chops or the resume to back it up. She was completely disrespectful of Kara who is a permanent judge. Guess America got a chance to see her true colors. I will never be a fan after her behavior last night.

Re: steffi33 – Steffi, I absolutely agree. Kara talks too much BS,and it has been difficult for other guest judges to get a word in edgewise. This is a singing competition, the talent is the most important thing, not the sob story. And whether or not Kara likes someone is irrelevant, but she behaves as if saying that she liked some one carried any weight. Simon should get rid ot her She overrates herself. She was rude and as a "guest judge" she should have said her opinion without stepping on Kara's toes. Kara is a producer and can sing circles around Katy, she's been in the biz for a lot longer. What a freakin' bitch…ugh…Katy's only been "famous" for five minutes and already she's trying to act like she's an expert, please spare me.
Whatever. I didn't watch her last night, but I've never liked her, so I didn't make it a priority. She seems like white trash that can entertain. From what I hear, she wasn't taking in ALL of the factors for star power, and instead was basing it on strictly singing talent. She of all people should not be judging based on purely singing talent, because the only reason she got her boost to fame was with controversy. And who is she holding the contestants to these high standards when she probably went home and banged Russel Brand? Talk about low standards.
katy was a judge so she should be allowed to give her opinon, kara should not try and force her opinion on every guest judge that comes in, sorry kara shes not shania shes not gonna put up with your shit

katy was a complete snot. very surprised that SHE was the one acting like a total brat…i full expected avril to be the hag. and no this "ain't a lifetime movie" but it certainly didn't hurt her career when everyone found out miss "i kissed a girl" is a mormon. i used to like her, i think she sucks now.
I love you katy! but watching that epi, she was a tad bit aggressive and mean. But lol i do agree that you shouldn't go through based on hardships because this will give them false hope and what if they get cut next round. what then? i know it takes tons of money and time to keep auditioning and it would be a great experience and you get tv time but all in all, you got through because you had a sad story. EVERYONE has a sad story which is important for sure, but then you gotta find that lucky break that is meant for you.
Katy Perry is one to talk about stories. She herself is built on this "girl discovered on MySpace" story that floats around everytime she's in the room, not to mention that she created a faux lesbian song to get attention because she couldn't otherwise. She's a crass, commercial, attention-whore so she really has no room to talk about someone liking someone's story. If she actually knew how to write songs, she'd know that hardships and trials and tribulations are the backbone of some of the greatest songs of all time.
