Tuesday night, at her performance at Purdue University, Lady Gaga announced that her fans from around the world raised half a million dollars to be donated to Haiti.

She took time out to thank her little monsters for all their generosity before she finished a arousing rendition of Speechless.

      I never really cared for GAGA until I saw her on OPRAH, she is amazing and wonderful. I can't stop playing Speechless! So wonderful. My five year old and two year old rock out to GAGA every afternoon!

I was at her concert last night, and she is a genuine person who cares deeply for her fans, music, and career. Shes a person just like the rest of us. stop bitching about her, because shes obviously already accomplished more than you will in your entire life.

      First of all, I was at that concert and it was amazeballs. Seriously.

      Second, I almost got kicked out of the theatre for waving my lighter during this number.

      Third, I screamed (during silence) "I love you Lady Gaga!!!" And she responded with "I love you, too…" I'm so happy I could die.

      It's the "little monsters" thing that really gets to me. Like she is the Queen and the fans are her subjects. Very telling that she knows who is in her audience. An adult with even the slightest amount of class or sophistication would not bow down to being called a "little monster". Whereas, mindless starfucked sheep, would and do. BAAAAA!

      I LOVE GAGA love, love, looooove GAGA. i live in Indiana and the first i heard of her concert was that it was sold out. totally heartbreaking. and then she got sick and had to reschedule. she was so gracious about it. She did an amazing thing. i was so touched when she said she was doing the Haiti day. Here fame came and jumped in her lap and she is nothing but humble. What an amazing soul she is. GO GAGA!! This lil monster loves u !!!!!

      Let's think about some things here:
      1) Lady Gaga didn't provide the money for the donation to Haiti, her fans did.
      2) Her fans bought whatever merchandise they could that day because they knew it would go to Haiti–so now tons of merchandise is floating around that promotes Lady Gaga as well as her campaign for Haiti.

      The publicity will be a huge gain for Gaga, yet she didn't have to donate a penny of her own.
      I'm not condemning the campaign or her initiative–I just hope people think twice before they attribute all the glory to Lady Gaga when her fans are to thank.
      Just like Lady Gaga gets full credit for writing her music (which she doesn't, she usually only writes lyrics and composition and production are done by someone else), she's getting all the attention for this campaign. Please give credit where it's due.

      Actually, if you read the liner notes of her CDs, credit IS given to the various songwriters with which she collaborated. I don't recall Lady Gaga saying she writes all her songs by herself or anyone saying that she does. I certainly doubt, however, that you have had special insight into the songwriting process to know that all she does is scribble lyrics to music already composed by someone else. Making up information just to invalidate the accomplishments of someone just because you have an all-consuming hatred for them is so tiring.

      The audience needs to be commended.
      Lady GaGa donated some of her merchandise sales and ticket sales. Big of her when she's making millions! She could have donated $2 million of HER $ and claimed it on income tax.
      She sang and danced for 60 minutes…hard…when some fans work hard labor jobs and can't barely afford tickets to her concert. Those fans are the ones who made her donation to Haiti.
