Two weeks ago, the rape case against David Copperfield filed from a woman he met three years ago was dismissed. No one was quite sure how an accusation so serious could be dismissed so easily, but some new information could help clear things up:
The girl was a conniving prostitute!
The woman who claimed David raped her, Lacey Carroll, has had charges filed against her from another man from last December. The man told police that he had met Lacey in a bar and took her back to his hotel room. When they began having sex, she allegedly told him, "Put $2,000 in my purse and you can have it all." The man says when he refused to fork over the money, she told police he had forced himself upon her.
Not long after this report was filed, Lacey refused to cooperate with police, claiming it would "tarnish the other case" she was involved in (aka Copperfield.) Authorities didn't believe her and charged her with filing a false police report and prostitution.
Noise from Camp Copperfield suggests that these developments prove that David wasn't guilty of rape and that this woman "tried to extort money from him by making a false claim."
Since it seems it wasn't her first time, we'd have to agree.
Got to be careful with the ladies, David. They have as many tricks up their sleeves as you do!

This is another person you previously condemned without knowing all the facts. Remember presumed innocent until proven guilty?

just because she's a sex worker doesn't mean that she wasn't raped.
prostitutes get raped too. they just have a harder time proving it because of the cultural bias against folks who exchange sex for money.
obviously, i don't know if she was or wasn't raped. but please don't use the fact that she's a sex worker as a reason to say that she's shady, or that she asked for it.

Re: lolagyrl – No disrespect but its not the fact that she was a hooker that made them drop charges its the fact that she falsely accused someone else of the same crime because he refused to pay her that shot her story to hell. Remember the little boy who cried wolf, well i guess that makes her the little hooker that cried rape. BTW I ttly believe hookers get raped all the time and its not okay.

I know this girl, she is a very sweet person and has never been anything nice to everyone i see her interact with. This situation is very much so "he said she said". I think both people are put in very shitty situations and more information is needed to sort this past issue for David out and the new situation with her out. Everyone needs to not be so judgmental about her.

Being a sex worker does make it harder to prove that you were raped.
Even though technically it should not create a bias against a woman's claims of rape.
Copperfield's legal team continues to rely so much on the prostitution charge to discredit this woman that it smells really fishy to me.
If he didn't rape her why not simply address the facts instead of spending so much time attacking her character?
