But American Idol helped him do it just a little, we think.
Last night, the State of the Union won the night in the ratings, which is easy to do when your only competition is yourself. However, FOX got the highest number of viewers for the telecast, thanks it part by preempting it with American Idol.
But consider this: 9.74 million people tuned in to hear our President address the nation on FOX, 24.75 million people tuned in to see Neil Patrick Harris work the Idol judges table.

who cares about these ratings, same with the telethon? if something is on almost EVERY station, of course it is going to win. It is not a true # because people put their heads in their computers, do the dishes, homework, etc. Besides, I have yet to meet a Nielsen family from years ago or like I said previously, the tv might have been on, but no one was sitting in front of it most of the time. was waiting for 10pm

Obama was a waste of my vote. A pretty face, with pretty words, but ZERO follow through. He's suggesting a "spending freeze" now, even though he criticized John McCain on the campaign trail for suggesting the EXACT same thing. On the campaign trail, Obama promised to put all of the healthcare negotiations on CSPAN, yet absolutely FAILED to follow through. Deals were made behind closed doors. And then he had the audacity to make the same promise again last night. A promise he already broke. He's says what he thinks people want to hear. Not what is possible, or what he actually plans to do.

Obama won the election and I got the FUCK OUT of USA. Switzerland is the shizzle as far as quality of life and every view out of every one of my windows is like a picture postcard. Italy is 3 hours away by car and France is 10 minutes away… Jobs??? Here when you work there is a contract and you are never fired or let go on the spot. Granted you cannot just up and quit, but at least both parties are covered. One year of service means one month notice by both parties. Two years service..two months and so on. There is no racial bullshit to contend with as everyone treats everyone else with respect. Celebrities? Phil Collins lives here as well as many other top names and no one would even think to approach them for an autograph when we see them out in public. American Idol did not pre-empt the State of the Union, it came on after the speech on the East Coast and in the Central Time Zone. All of the Obama Haters can go suck a tea-bag.
