In response to John Edwards' admission that he fathered a child with adultress Rielle Hunter, his wife, Elizabeth Edwards, finally called it quits!
“It is an extraordinarily sad moment, but I love my children more than anything and still care deeply about Elizabeth," said John.
Should have thought about that beforehand!
"She said, 'I've had it. I can't do this. I want my life back,'" divulged Elizabeth's sister, Nancy Anania, regarding meeting her husband's daughter from the affair.
Elizabeth's spokeswoman said that she's "moving on with her life" after a "excruciatingly painful period for her."

Where in the wedding vows do you promise to "care deeply, honor , and obey" your spouse? She is so much better off without this scum.

I think that if this country wasn't so uptight about "morality" then they would have just gotten divorced awhile ago. Sympathy is certainly due her for the cancer — that has to be a huge stress — but many of those who were working "under" her felt badly treated even before her diagnosis. That in NO WAY justifies John Edwards' actions, but the "poor sweet martyred Elizabeth" thing is just another contrived image.
Elizabeth is a slut for money and fame. She chose that life and that man and she created the whole house of cards. She wants her life back? What the hell does that mean? THIS IS her life! She can't be 25 again. She can't bring Wade back.
They're all just whiny children.

He is a scumbag. But come on people his wife knew he was a cheater before we knew and still supported him during the election. And you all have been fooled! Now she is milking for all that is worth, good for her!!!! I’m sad to hear dying though.
While I love gossip, I really wish that this whole affair had never hit the news. Elizabeth is a class act and deserves better, obviously, but the pain of having this played out publicly while you battle cancer and contemplate your children's lives without their mother is really unimaginable. In addition, she can't help but have nightmares that Rielle Hunter inherits her kids after she dies. Can you imagine?
there is something so dishonest and corrupt about Elizabeth and John. And I'm not just talking about the way they treat each other, but also they way they portray themselves to the media.
The first thing he'll pack up when she boots him is a large mirror. Narcissistic, arrogant little dandy. How about his kids (the other ones … not the baby), think they're embarrassed much? No one in this soap opera is admirable. Not Elizabeth, certainly not him, and not the conniving whack job who chased him for the $$$$.
There's clearly a place in hell with John Edward's name on it. How can you cheat on your terminally ill wife? And she seems like such a nice person. My sincerest hope is that she find the happiness she so richly deserves.
