Young Rihanna Fan Loses Fight With Leukemia

Very, very sad!
Six-year-old Jasmina Anema, who was proclaimed the #1 fan of Rihanna and was beloved by the likes of President Barack Obama among others, died yesterday, succumbing to her battle with leukemia. Her mother made the official announcement on the Caring Bridge blog, a website dedicated to well-wishers of the courageous little girl.
From the White House, President Obama released a statement, saying:
"It is with great sadness today that Michelle and I extend our condolences on the passing of Jasmina Anema. Jasmina showed tremendous bravery in the face of adversity, and her ability to stay positive throughout her battle was an inspiration to me and to all those she touched. As the parents of two young girls, our hearts particularly go out to Jasmina's devoted mother Thea. Our thoughts and prayers are with her and with all who knew and loved Jasmina."
We'd also like to send out thoughts and condolences to the family and loved ones of Jasmina. Truly, she was a beautiful and amazing little girl.

What a beautiful child. Rest in peace. At least she got to meet her idol. My thoughts are with her family.
Aww so sad.
When I was in Elementary school (like three years ago) my friend had cancer and was staying at Sloan Kettering and Rihanna used to stop by there a lot and talk to the kids and my friend and his mother said that she was so kind and that she'd visit the kids without any cameras or anything.
This is so tragic. Rest in peace Jasmina. What an absolutely beautiful little girl with tremendous courage.

Aww, that's so sad. My prayers for the family - you have lost a daughter, but gained a guardian angel.
That's so sad. It breaks my heart to hear this
Sad!! RIP little girl!!
Re: MalibuSunrise – You are aware that Leukemia is a cancer right? There isnt a vaccine for cancer. I DO think people should vaccinate theiry children but in this case sadly there is nothing that can PREVENT it.
I hope that little girl R.I.P. it's terrible when a child passes early. My heart goes out to her mother and family.
Re: MalibuSunrise – Since this is a story about the illness and passing of a beautiful little child I am going to hold the sarcasm, but apparently you are withholding vital information on the leukemia vaccine. No one seems to be aware of it but you.

By the way people, CaringBridge is an incredible website about people's courage and spirit as they and their families deal with terminal illnesses. It is both sad and joyful, and a very special place to find out about the amazing courage and wisdom of people in their final journeys.
Ugh this sucks. Brought tears to my eyes! She's in heaven with the angels.
Awww, R.I.P. bless her little heart. I am sure she is standing with the Angel's.
R.I.P. beautiful little soul. God has a new angel.
So sad
RIP Jasmina
Poor little girl. My six year old niece was diagnosed with leukemia when she was two and it was really hard to see her go through the bone marrow biopsies, spinal, chemotherapy. Thank the Lord that she got through it, although she still has regular checkups. What really struck me when we would take her to her chemotherapy treatment, she knew the routine; actually all the children did. It was amazing yet sad to witness that.
Such an inspiration to us all! It's extremely sad to hear this. What a beautiful girl! I hope she has peace where she is now.
they always say life isn't fair and this proves it….a little girl -brave- staying positive - inspiring - fighting to live is taken away and then you hear and read about all these girls in Hollywood "unhappy" because of the way they look, or depressed and just have to turn to drugs- risking their lives, instead of fighting to live the best life they are fortunate enough to have- so many things they complain about- they should be thankful every day they wake up…i'm sure all these children whose lives are cut short would do anything to have another day- jasmine was a beautiful little girl taken too soon
so sad r*i*p
She's not in pain anymore. Rest in peace angel.
AWW!!!! And she's so young as well!!!!!!!
Rest in peace beautiful little girl….
Thats so sad. No child should be taken away so quickly. R.I.P. little Jasmina. May she rest with the angels now.
if I was a Rihanna fan i'd wanna die too
