We're just receiving word that Etta James was sent to the hospital due to a serious urinary tract infection this week.

Fortunately, her son says that she is expected to make a full recovery and be released from the Southern Cali very soon.

Sending our love to you, Etta! Hope you feel better soon!

      It is sad that no one knows who Etta James is. But then, not that many people know what real music is either. She is one of the best blues singer out there. sure wish people (family) around her would stop trying to make themselves famous off of her success. sending all my love for her quick recovery.

      Re: Raquel__ – Even I know who she is Racquel. You probably think Beyonce owns the song "At Last" but this lady made that song famous when Beyonce's mother was like 7 or 8 years old. A lot of her songs are on YouTube. You should listen to them. She sang back in the day when there was no studio bullshit but your voice and an orchestra. She rocked. I think she has alzheimers now though.

      Re: loridblues – It's so true. Perez is actually not as musically informed as he seems to think he is. If there's any way to get the current "young generation" to take a look at her, I suppose it would be to inform them that Christina Aguilera (who is quite an impressive singer in her own right) has repeatedly referenced Etta James as her all favorite singer of all-time. Real singers inspire real singers.

And if you say that she made that song famous when Beyoncé's mother was about 7, then she's probobly pretty old. I'm only 16, so I think she's waaay before my time.
