Well, we're sure this must soften the blow!!

Although only having just lost their jobs, the cast members of freshly axed Ugly Betty are already at the top of casting executives' wish lists for new televisions shows about to start production for next season!

Cast members Eric Mabius, Becki Newton, Vanessa Williams, Michael Urie, and Ana Ortiz are all reportedly being courted by broadcast executives, looking to hire them for the upcoming pilot season, which generally goes from March-April.

Now that she's put away the braces, America Ferrera is apparently hoping to focus on only film roles now.

Says casting executive Marc Hirschfeld,

"The networks and casting directors in Hollywood are looking very closely at the casts that have or will become available on shows like Dollhouse, Ugly Betty, Nip/Tuck, Three Rivers and Lost and bubble shows like Scrubs and Better Off Ted to cherry-pick up."

It's disappointing to see the talented cast of Ugly Betty have to leave their HIGHlarious roles behind, but at least they'll be able to continue working!

Best of luck to all of them!

I cant believe this show went on as long as it did, it was pretty lame. the first season was so so but all the annoying background music was lame.

Loved this show too. Unfortunately, they only started to develop Justin this season. It would be great if they could do a "spin-off" but that would take a lot of guts.

      GO ON BECKIIII!
I love her and Michael aswell. Such a talented set of actors! I hope to see them in something soon. I'm gunna miss that show, especially AMANDA and MARC

THE REASON WHY THIS SHOW FAILED WAS BECAUSE THE DVD'S FOR PRIOR SEASONS WERE WAAAAAAAAAY TOO EXPENSIVE TO BUY, BESTBUY SOLD UGLY BETTY SEASONS AT $50 BUCKS A POP. WHICH, DIDNT GIVE ANY BREATHING ROOM FOR NEW VIEWERS TO RIDE THE TRAIN.

I Hope America Ferrera does well in life. She was amazing in Sister of the Traveling Pants and Ugly Betty. As weel as the rest of the cast.

What About Salma? She Must Be Dissappointed! Sucks That We Won't Have a Full Season To Close Out The Show!

I loved Ugly Betty and I'm so sad that it's coming to an end. They should have never switched the day and time slot for it. That's what fucked the ratings up..UGH!

I love the Ugly Betty cast all together. It's going to be sad seeing them in different roles without each other, especially Amanda and Marc. I hope they at least all do comedy. We need another fashion/dramedy ABC.

I dont know if it's the journalism that has it wrong or a really dumb out of touch casting agent, but Im very positive that Dollhouse is axed… so good luck with casting them in that!

This was a great family show and it will be sorely missed. I wish the cast ALL THE BEST in future projects. So sad to see such a good show like this being canceled and such cheap trashy shows like "The Jersey Shore" stay on…. jmo..

Please someone hire Enver Gokaj from Dollhouse! He's too brilliant of an actor to not be cast on an amazing show!

Re: Tbuff86 – Did you read the story? "casts that have or will become available on shows like Dollhouse." Casting directors are casting the actors from these axed shows.

Whyyyy can't it carry on :/

i cant see america ferrera being a major leading film actress. she simply does not have the looks for it. she will most likely be cast as a supporting actress or one of an ensemble. best thing for her career is for her to do some quirky supporting film roles for a few years and then try to land or develop a tv show for herself.
