Charlize Theron and Stuart Townsend have reportedly called it quits!
Charlize ended the couple's 9-year relationship when she realized they had "become more like brother and sister than lovers."
Um, yeah, that's reason enough!
"She truly loved Stuart but the relationship ran its course," a close friend revealed. "He is heartbroken but she is insisting it is all over."
Theron is currently residing in the couple's Hollywood Hills home while Townsend has moved to their beach house in Malibu.
Not too shabby!

She has always been way too much for him
she has treated him like her dog for a long time. if their relationship became "like brothers and sisters" she has no one to blame but herself. stuart was nothing but devoted to her, and she disrespected him for it. i went to a party years ago at her place and at one point in the evening she screamed at him like he was the hired help. it was a bit shocking, and I'm surprised they even lasted this long.

Stuart is extremely good looking. He will not be lonely for long when he's ready to move on. She is getting older and will not be able to replace him so easily. When's the last movie you saw her in?

Wow Me Myself and I, that makes me sad. I always thought she was lucky to get someone as good looking as he is and to see this, I just think she is the stupidest person in the world.
This reminds me of Jessica Simpson. Remember when she thought she was "all that"? Now she looks sort of lonely and desperate. You see it all the time. But Stuart looks sweet and is so good looking, how many guys look like that in LA or anywhere?

when i learnt she broke up with her boyfriend and she works with David Fincher on HBO show,i thought she may be with David Fincher now because i never thought they knew each other and Fincher love blond & hitchcock women!

He has no career has been riding her coattails and her for so long and now she's sick of it. He has a reputation for being a jerk. She was way too good for him and she is the one who would have no problem finding a new better man. He is probably crying somewhere.

Charlize and Fincher would be a much cool couple than these two were. Stuart was just weighing her down. He was nothing.
She gets her Chinese baby, and then files for divorce. What a scam, hes probably gay and married her just so she can go through the adoption process and then when she gets the kid they got divorced. Sounds fishy to me.
This is why marriage is such an incredibly bad idea. They were smart to avoid it.

janebird, you can respond to every poster and talk about how great she is but I don't think she's that great at all. Maybe I shouldn't have seen Monster. After that, I find it hard to even look at her.
And yes, she is on the downhill side, I haven't seen a movie of hers in years. And yes, she will continue to age and Stuart will continue to look better, whether he is gay or straight, which I don't know and don't care since it doesn't matter.

And if her career is going nowhere why is she still constantly being offered juicy roles and will star in the big Mad Max sequel. Her career is and has been going way better than his. That's just face. Sorry Stuart Townsend fans. They lasted really long though so she must have cared for him. The minute I saw this posting, I thought she likely will be seen with another guy in the next few months as if she has moved on, but really has already done so. Maybe David Fincher, but definitely someone new in the picture.

Re: taylor_love – Well that's only because some of us can't figure out why people are hating on Charlize and calling her old when she is younger than he is. To me that's worse.
And also maybe you don't realize this but it's his own fault his career hasn't taken off. He has repeatedly been fired from big projects due to his bad behavior. No one who has worked with Charlize has ever had a bad word to say about her. So it must be him. He brings it on himself when he shows up over 6 hours late high to the film set.

She used to be a model, so she knows how to pose. Perhaps that is you projecting that on to her because she always looks so good on the red carpet.

It's starting to change with Demi Moore, Madonna, and a lot of my girlfriends who will ONLY date men younger than them. And Julia Roberts also has a younger man who she stole. LOL. There is NOTHING sexy about older men. They are misers with their money and you'll have to push them in their weelchairs soon enough. Although the gold diggers I know who married older men all divorced them once they hit 50….and cleaned them out. So it all evens out.
