Celebrity Wedding Planner Ruins Couple's Big Day???

Celebrity wedding planner David Tutera, star of the We TV show My Fair Wedding, has been sued by a couple who claim that Tutera intentionally sabatoged their big day.
Melissa Chin and Steve Choi claim in their $20,000 suit that Tutera,
"defrauded and intended to inflict severe emotional distress on (Chin and Choi) through his gross and irrational actions by taking advantage of their generosity and failing to fulfill his contractual obligations to plaintiffs on their most important of days: their wedding day,"and "specifically intended to sabotage plaintiffs wedding by . . . failing to attend their wedding in Singapore even after being overpaid to attend; specifically instructing certain subcontractors in Singapore to not fulfill their obligations for the wedding; and by failing to return certain moneys."
According to attorneys, Tutera still owes the pissed off newlyweds: the bride's boquet, floral decor, a VIP round table, various linens, a white carpet for arrival, and a dance floor.

Tutera's rep, however, is calling bullshiz, and saying Chin missed the payment deadline and he couldn't get a hold of her, so he personally called her father, who told him they couldn't afford the wedding.
"Based on her father's statment and other events, Tutera did as advised. He looks forward to clearing up this matter in court."
We're gonna call bitter bridezilla publicity stunt on this one, folks. Tutera would be an effing idiot to pull this shiz and get himself bad press.

I highly doubt he'll intentionally sabotage a bride's wedding because by doing that he's also sabotaging himself since that would be bad business for him especially since he has his own wedding show. I highly doubt he would intentionally ruin a wedding even if the bitch is a bridezilla!

Yeah, I use to like this guy, until I saw him on the Celebrity Apprentice with Joan Rivers and then he was so unprofessional and dissed her. Hated him since then and refuse to watch his show. What kind of gay guy is he to trash legendary Joan Rivers!

I dunno about this one. Because the bride's father said there's no money for the wedding, he cancelled? If he got paid and didn't show up, he's in trouble. Did he send them emails or registered letters trying to get in touch with the couple? He must have proof that he tried to complete the transaction, if not, I'd rule in favour of the plaintiff.
Who knows how distorted this report is, but the facts as they're presented seem to argue pretty clearly in favor of the wedding planner. The couple reports they contracted for a $200k planning fee, but they're only suing for the $100k deposit (plus "emotional distress"). I can only assume they would sue for the entire amount had they paid it. For full disclosure, I'm also a client of the planner (albeit not quite at this platinum level!), so I know the contracts require the full amout to be paid before the wedding. If the couple owed $100k and wasn't answering the phone, I'm not sure I'd show up either (or tell my vendors to provide anything that wasn't paid for in advance).
