Brittany Murphy's husband Simon Monjack is hosting an event to launch the Brittany Murphy Foundation which is dedicated to arts education for children.
But he is suggesting enormous amounts for attendees at $1,000 per head and $10,000 for corporations.
Insiders believe Monjack just wants to make money. "He's gotten away with so much. He thinks he can get away with this," says one source.
"Everyone thinks it's very tacky that he is making it so much about money," says another.
Tacky is putting it nicely — we think it's despicable!

well, these charities can't do anything without money, so it has to be about the money. As long as he is not in charge of writing checks, so what? tacky? I worked for YEARS in not for profits and one of the problems was that people/celebs were more interested in the parties. One that I did work for, my charity received very little money, but everyone was going on about what a great event it was. GREAT! They had fun! but the people running it, spent to much money on everything that there was very little left over for what the event was for. BIG no no in not for profits. IT IS ABOUT THE MONEY MARIO. Hollywood loves a big party, and for the readers here, we cannot afford $1000 but YOU can and it is just a drop in the bucket for even d listers. As long as this charity is legit, don't attack unless you have proof. AND MOST OF YOUR HOLLYWOOD BUDDIES DO TAKE HOSTING FEES FOR THESE EVENTS. UNFORTUNATELY. Very few do anything for nothing.

To start off, I did know Brittany Murphy. She and her family are good friends of mine. I did get an Invite of the event, and it does NOT state that you have to donate anything to attend. It says "If you WANT to donate to the BM foundation, the suggested donation is 1000 per person, and 10,000 per corporation" You have no idea what your talking about, and your website is FULL of lies.

Re: La Garse – It is not uncommon for people arranging/hosting these events to charge an administration fee etc.. and have the profits be counted after their cut. There's the bucks for him. I've seen it done before.Personal take….very likely a money maker.No thanks.
