Conan Steps Up To Help His Former Employees

Despite the bad blood that might exist now between Conan O'Brien and NBC, it seems the ginger is still taking care of his cast.
And while Conan might have walked away with millions in his pocket after being fired, not everyone who worked for him got a payout.
NBC did create a $7.5 million separation deal for some of O'Brien's ex-staffers. However, sources are reporting that Conan's stagehands weren't covered by the severance plan.
So the funnyman is stepping up and promising to pay his almost 50 person crew at least six weeks of severance from his own bank account.
Nice!
IATSE Local 33, the union for his former crew members, says that the workers are "very happy" with the way Conan handled the situation.
Glad to see him lending a helping hand.

Late to another party I see, eh Tons a' Fun? This was reported by other gossip sites 3 days ago. What have you been doing? Cleaning peep show floors with your tongue again, fuck face?
He'll use this as a tax deduction. He's no hero.
Meanwhile, Jay Leno would have asked the fired employees to chip in for his farewell party.
that is nice of him, he didnt have to do this. but see what happens when stupid, greedy, egotistic boys play with people's lives like NBC did? People get hurt. Jobs are lost, family struggle, its just a mess. Assholes.
LATE LATE LATE! Your sources blow
Love Conan. Definitely need him back on the air ASAP.
6 weeks? CHEAPASS. This is no package, it's a month 1/2. I've been unemployed for over a year. He just doesn't get it does he.
lets not forget this guy was offered the show at midnite and refused because his ego was bruised. walks away with 32m while a hundred employees who relocated to LA got fucked.
he's a selfish douche.
Re: Lucas – HE did not have to pay them a dime. We are talking 50 people-you think he should have paid them for a year? If they earned 40K, he would have had to pay them 2mil and then the others would have demanded more, and he would have ended up with nothing. These stage hands DID NOT come from NY, they were new hires. IF he stayed with the tonight show, nbc would have cancelled them anyway in a few weeks. So, after 7 months of work, 6 weeks is not bad to walk away with and alot more than most unemployed people
Re: caroaber – 2 Bitter bunny you are. Tax deduction or not, it is a great gesture and one that should be commended and followed. He will only be able to deduct a portion of this charitable deed, so shut the fuck up.
Re: SWEETPIECE! – excellent!!!

TEAM CONAN!!!!!!!!
Awesome Conan!!!!!!!
Re: SWEETPIECE! – Why don't you STFU? I'm not bitter, I just refuse to jump on the Conan bandwagon.
Commended? This is his attempt to block future lawsuits. Take off the rose-colored glasses. Conan's selfish and I am not impressed by his latest temper tantrum.
Firecrotch.
Re: JigSaw – OXOX! Team Conan.
Re: caroaber – 14 If you refuse to jump on the wagon, then please, jump under it, Jay.
Re: SWEETPIECE! – No, I'd rather push you under it.
Team Anybody-But-Conan
Seriously people, Conan AND Leno suck. Conan didn't deliver ratings because PEOPLE SIMPLY DIDN'T LIKE HIM. Don't give me that "he didn't have enough time to develop an audience" crap. I liked Conan during his first 2 years, his self-deprecating style was natural, then he started to take himself seriously.
Leno by default only.
case closed.
Re: caroaber – 17 You'd never catch me!
Well, he's the one who thought he was too good to move back a 1/2 hour, so they all lost their jobs while he walked off with what, a whopping 35 million? A helping hand, indeed.
