Harry Potter Theme Park Will have Its Own Commercial During The Super Bowl
Looks like Universal Studios Orlando is really hoping people will embrace their new Harry Potter theme park opening this spring.
In fact, Universal has shelled out some big bucks to place a commercial for their new park during the Super Bowl.
Reports are estimating that ad space for a 30 second commercial is selling for as much as $3 million!
However, we're not sure if the audience watching the Super Bowl is exactly the type of demographic they're looking for. Maybe advertising on Nickelodeon would have been better?
Either way, the ad looks pretty good and we're sure Potter fans will love it.
But is it really Superbowl Ad material?

I think part of it is to give parents an idea where to go for vacation during the summer and such. Younger kids can't go to an amusement park with their parents' money+car anyway. Another part is also probably because Harry Potter is one of those books that many adults enjoy along with kids, so that's probably who they're aiming for also. Superbowl ads create buzz anyway just for being a Superbowl ad, not necessarily everyone watches the Superbowl but we all hear about the commercials.

Advertising this is PERFECT for the Super Bowl audience! Adults love this stuff, too, and families watch Super Bowl's together!
well HP started big a decade ago, so the readers audience spreads up to age 30 (and even above if u concider the parents) - there will be superbowl fans that have grown into the Potter franchise
This will be an amazing interactive place for Harry Potter fans. Apparently you can visit every store in Hogsmeade, buy wands and robes and stuff like that.
Advertising for this during the Super Bowl is a great idea! Kids aren't the only people that like Harry Potter, you douche.

It isn't actually its own theme park… don't get too excited. It's just a remodeled section of Islands of Adventure at Universal Studios.

it's not an entire theme park at all, it's just part of IOA. it's just added to the "sections" they already have there, like Suess Landing and the superhero island.
i've been to universal studios and its the most wretched tacky amusement park ever…and i LIKE cartoons and comics. dunno if even my love of al things HP could persuade me to go back.

An incredible range of people watch the superbowl and, surprisingly, an incredible range of people also like Harry Potter. My husband and I check the site everyday waiting to find out when the new theme park opens so we can book our trip (and we don't have any kids)!

I live in Orlando about 2 miles up the road from Universal. I was driving home the other day, going on the overpass and for the first time I saw the new towers at Hogwarts - it looks AWESOME AND HUGE! And yes, it isn't it's own theme park, but this is going to be very very cool. Lots of buzz around town on this.

Err…I doubt this is going to be the exact same commercial they're going to play on the night of the Super Bowl. Why would they release it early? The real commercial is probably way less lame and doesn't have that pedophile-sounding guy narrating.

It's not a Theme Park per say, but a "land" in Universal's Islands of Adventure - equivalent to what Fantasyland is to Disneyland.
