Mr. Darcy Talks Gay Hollywood Hypocrisy!
Colin Firth is speaking out against Hollywood's horrible double standard for gay actors!
The seksi Brit, who stars as gay college professor George Falconer in A Single Man, says:
“There might be risks for a gay actor coming out. The politics of that are quite complex, it seems to me. If you’re known as a straight guy, playing a gay role, you get rewarded for that. If you’re a gay man and you want to play a straight role, you don’t get cast — and if a gay man wants to play a gay role now, you don’t get cast. I think it needs to be addressed and I feel complicit in the problem. I don’t mean to be. I think we should all be allowed to play whoever — but I think there are still some invisible boundaries which are still uncrossable.”
Well spoken, Mr. Darcy!! You hit the hypocrisy right on the nose!!
Playing gay has become way too fashionable in Hollywood for straight actors who want to be edgy and bold with their careers! It works both ways! If straight can play gay, gay can CERTAINLY play straight!!
Now that we've addressed there is a problem, let's try to take the proper steps to correct it!! Enough is enough!!

He is correct, imo, but old attitudes still preclude role believability. Going both ways seems marginally accepted, so straights playing gay seem a tad more believable. Casting agents would be the group to educate here.
just look at neil patrick harris- plays super womanizer on how I met your mother, and in real life- living with his life partner. he's an amazing actor so it doesn't matter if he's gay or straight.

You should try your own advice for a change and read a book instead of just acting like you do. If you did, you'd know that science is proving the Bible correct more and more every day. There have been a multitude of new scientific and archeological discoveries in recent years that have been proving information in the Bible to be true and factual. A little education can go a long way.

Her disgust for men simply cannot be buried under layers of makeup and hair extensions. She does a disgusting impersonation at that.
You don't see blacks playing white parts in movies, and you don't see whites playing black parts in movies. You don't see fat people doing Abe Lincoln, and you will never see Schwartzenneger playing a midget.
