On the heels of Lost star Matthew Fox announcing he was taking a break from the biz after he leaves the island, Evangeline Lilly is making a similar announcement - only hers might stick more permanently!
The actress, who through this gig has been able to pursue some amazing projects like The Hurt Locker, has decided that one Lost ends, she will be done with acting for good. She explains:
“Acting is something I appreciate, and I think it’s been an amazing experience, but I’m not passionate about acting the way you probably should be to call yourself an actor. I want to have some quiet space… and enjoy a little bit of normalcy again (before deciding what’s next).”
Normalcy is over-rated and you have come so far, to give up now would be the biggest waste!

She has been making statements like this since the first season of Lost. What is the big deal! Anyway after she clears her head it is not like she can't come back. She has something that makes her always welcome into Hollywood. That is beauty. If I could make a few million bucks in six years and then do nothing for a while and not have to worry about making money I would be so happy and content.
Maybe Perez is not passionate about his blog anymore, so Lilly's words really hit home and he lashed out.
She's made enough money to retire, and probably never work again unless she really wants to. She’s not the first person in the world to have success in one medium and then want to try other things. If she has been smart about saving money then she probably isn’t that concerned with the financial impact, especially with residuals probably coming for the rest of her life. Plus, if you have ever heard her speak in interviews, she’s a pretty adventurous person so wanting to try new things and not spend too much time in the same ones is not something that should come as a suprise. God forbid fame and money don’t get to someone’s head and they don’t feel the need to continue with it for as long as possible in order to be happy. Sure we can say that if we had those things we would maybe feel differently but we are us and she is herself. There is no law that states that everyone has to follow the same mindset as everyone else.
