Maybe he is rolling in dough and does not care, but instead of trying to be gracious to the reporters, he is going off on anyone that touches on the subject.       It was a fair question from the interviewer. Mel doesn't seem to realize that the public has only seen mostly all the negative in his personal life. Leaving your wife who bore you eighty children, and then having yet another kid with someone half your age doesn't leave a positive image. Nor, does an arrest while drunk, followed by numerous photographs showing himdrinking in bars thereafter bode well in the public's mind. He looks terrible to boot. Does anyone remember Tom Arnold back when he was married to Roseanne? The man had a huge cocaine addiction, and in every interview he gave during that time, he couldn't sit still, always had to be chewing on something or drinking something while swinging his neck around like he was spooked. Mel is this same way now in interviews. Didn't Mel have a drug addiction about twenty years ago that he supposedly got "treatment" for? Looking at him now, I think he's back on the stuff.

He's on a junket for his first movie since all of his probs, so he's beyond naive if he didn't think he was going to be asked if the public's perception of him has changed. The reporter had a completely valid question. All he had to do was say, "no, america loves a come back and my work will speak for itself. next question." He is the one who acerbated the situation by asking the reporter to be specific (which, come on, wasn't necessary at all) and then attacked him for not getting off the subject. To keep saying "move on dude" during an interview and then finish with "asshole" is kinda equivalent to losing your shiz, hollywood style. I'm sure his publicist was expecting worse when she heard him sniffing rails in his dressing room right before going on. I can't wait to see more interviews with him and find out if he's that coked up for all of them.
