The supernatural teen drama, based off a series of novels written by L. J. Smith, earned its highest ratings since the fall this week, with 4 million viewers tuning in on Thursday night.

I love this show. Ian Somerholder is so hot, even if the storylines start to suck I'll watch it just to see him.

I Loved the books, read them when they came out, the show is not bad but I am still trying to get use to the major storyline changes they made….but True Blood still rules!
I agree that the whole vampire thing is overdone but I do love the show. But supernatural more. Both are great WB shows!

I love this show! I didn't think I would b/c I'm an R-Patz fan and thought he made the best vampire but I was wrong. While the show is nothing like the books it's still addicting!

Screw R-Patz he sucks! Ian Somerhalder is way better, I love him as Damon….can't wait for the new episode! And for the record TVD beats twilight to the ground. It's sexier, edgier, the story line is amazing and the actors in the series can actually ACT!
I see more passion and love between Stefan and Elena, than Bella and Edward and twilight is suppose to be the one with all the "romance"

I tried to watch a few times and I like the two vampire men but the women all seemed so contrived and phony…
I love this show! This week's episode was so good! The story line is so much more suspenseful and romantic than Twilight. Don't get me wrong, I love Twilight but I like seeing an hour's worth of vampire action every week.
No Rpatz is actually a great reason to watch. I has to be better that Twilight.

I LOVE THAT SERIES ITS AMAZING, FAR BETTER THAN TWILIGHT, SO PEREZ YOU CAN KEEP R-PATZ TO YOURSELF. IN VAMPIRE DIARIES THERE'S A LOT MORE SUSPENSE AND ACTION AND HEART BREAK THAT YOU CAN ACTUALLY FEEL. ITS NOT POOR ACTING AND FILMED LIKE A MUSIC VIDEO. ITS REALLY, REALLY GOOD. SO TWI-HARDS CAN SUCK IT.

iv seen the first two episodes. i love vampire fiction (i say that as though theres vampire non-fiction) and im mostly enjoying the vampire diaries as kitsch. their a bit overwrought and impossible to take seriously.

Ian Somerhalder is a freaking amazingly talented actor and he is doing an AMAZING job in that show. You just dont want to watch it because the vampires in TVD arent gay like Edward sparkle-ass!
Hell yeah I'm watching! Ian Somerhalder is crazy hot and the way he plays his character is fantastic. Plus Sean Faris is on the show right now and he's extremely gorgeous too. And Paul Wesley is superhot too. What's not to love?

This is really a good show. The vampires are HOT, I've loved Ian since I discover his dreamy blue eyes on LOST. I still love my Rob Pattinson though. Rob is a good actor he just doesn't have much to work with given the script and co-actors in the Twilight series. I still see big and wonder things for Rob. The girls on Vampire Daries are beautiful….and I think they are good actors as well. Together they make a good show that I look forwarded to every week.
What the hell is so good about robert pattinson? I mean, he can't act to save his life. It's alomst painful to watch him attempt it. And he's pretty full of himself AND he's a slob. And, to top it all off, HE'S UGLY. Like, holy shit. Get over him. I can't WAIT for his 15 minutes to be up.
As for the Vampire Diaries, I was very pleasently surpised with this show. Some of the actors need some lessons (Paul Wesley in particular), but all in all, it's a good show. I agree that Ian is awesome. Def the best actor on the show.

Ian Somerholder is 10 times better to look at than R-Patz. As a vampire he is more badass and sexy, not to mention he's a better actor. He can still draw you into the story no matter how corny it may be. He is the only reason why i watch.

'R-Pratz' is hideous and put to acting shame compared to the two vamp hotties on vamp diaries. now THIS is a show where there is action and conflict. I never realized how boring twilight was really. damon (Ian Somerhalder) is especially a intriguing and attractive character.

I think you better assess your loyalties Perez. I really don't mind vampire shows/movies etc. I mean I loved Interview with the Vampire and I grew up on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. When the Twilight craze occured, I watched the movie and concluded that the actors couldn't act and the script was beyond cheesy. When I saw the Vampire Diaries advertised I was really iffy about it; but I watched because of Ian Somerhalder. I was hooked; and although Ian/Damon is the main reason I watch the show, I would say that I actually watch it now to find out what's going to happen next. Ian Somerhalder definitely carries the show though and it wouldn't be what it is without him.

This is the best show. You need to watch it Perez. It will cure your vampire fix in between vampire movies. I love Vampire Diaries. I cant get enough of it. I actually think I like it more then The Twilight Series….

I watched the ending of one show the other night with my friend, its the only part i have seen, but it seems like such a copy of twilight. Human and vampire fall in love. Vampire and his whole family are 'good' vampires (much like the cullens) random angry vampire is in love with humans vampire boyfriend and she tries to kill girl (who i believe is played by anna paquin.. ) then some other vampire dude cuts in and tells vampire to back off and retract her fangs. pretty much a copy of edward, bella, cullens and victoria.. might watch this show one day thou..

Never saw Twilight…no interest. R-Patz looks dirty & like he stinks. Was a Buffy fan & thought VD would suck. Watched it for the 1st time when nothing else was on and I never watched Lost, so I wasn't an Ian fan and…………OMG, he is beautiful and he can act. The story and cast is very good. Guess I'm back on the vampire kick again!
