Howard Stern has said that he would replace Simon Cowell on American Idol, but only if they cough up 100 million big ones. Says Stern:
"They'd have to pay me a ton of dough because I already make a ton of dough. Yeah I would do that show for $100 million."
Stern, referring to the Idol as a "fucking karaoke contest" said that being a judge would be the best job on the planet and he is even rumored to be leaving Sirius XM Radio soon.
BUT $100 million is a lot of money…

Sadly, for you (and fortunately for the rest of the world) there is zero chance that you'll ever be considered for a mainstream entertainment gig. Given your complete lack of anything resembling talent (let's face it: you're barely literate) the only reason you have achieved anything that was at one time considered moderately successful is timing. You happened upon the celebrity bloguero concept by accident and accumulated an early fan base back in the day when you actually put some effort into this thing. Now, most of your traffic comes from people who despise you (not a long term success strategy) and the only reason you haven't slipped off the face of the earth is that there are a handful of lazy media producers remaining who call on you as a subject matter expert rather than hire an intern at $9/hr for about ten minutes to find someone who is actually qualified to offer an opinion. You mistake this for success and popularity. At your peril. Even your rapidly declining core constituency of 15 year old mean girls are getting wise to your mean-spirited, misogynist, and often homophobic ways. Tic Toc. Tic Toc. Enjoy it while it lasts.
What the show desperately needs is someone with baggage and an agenda who thinks Sliimy is the be-all and end-all, and that a boy-band's time has come. You might be suited for the Gong Show, Pumpkinhead, if they revived it, but only as some sort of ludicrous novelty act to be gonged in record time.

Re: zach swan – I am agreeing with many of your points, Zach, Although I'm much older than a 15 year old I have been reading this blog for years. It used to be good! It used to be the go-to source for new gossip to read when bored at work. Now, it is written by other people (yes, Perez, we can tell the difference and your sister, assistant whomever is REALLY bad at spell check, grammar, etc.–it can be painful to read at times). Perez has jumped the shark, if you will. I go to other sources for more immediate juice that is current, factual and much more entertaining.
I understand why Perez has expanded his options of making money like a lot of other (real) celebs do–branching into other areas i.e. trying to create his own music label, clothing (the silly t-shirts he makes), the books and now the boy band crap, all this in addition to his TV and radio spots..
The point I mostly want to make here is that beyond the zillion reasons why Perez is not a contender for American Idol—his speaking voice is PAINFUL to listen to. He speaks slow , has the valley girl/gay thing going on and is incredibly annoying to listen to. Can you imagine the midwestern AI crowd trying to deal with this guy let alone both coasts. How has no one mentioned this before? Please, Perez–tone it down, speak quicker and try to sound a wee bit more intelligent on air. Also, save up your duckets cause i'm not sure how much longer this Perez thing will last.
HS does not have any background in the industry, his background is being harsh (DUH!)…personally, I do not see him as a good fit.
