Unlike most Super Bowl performers of the National Anthem, Carrie decided to sing it live and not lipsynch to a pre-recorded version. So we do give her mad props for that!

Carrie was flat quite a few times, in addition to the last note. However, I still think she did an AMAZING job.
It seemed to me that perhaps her earpiece wasn't working well, as it seemed that she simply couldn't hear herself. She can obviously sing the song very well (as evidenced by her rehearsal).
I believe the only reason she was flat was because she couldn't hear herself, and was always searching for the note. That would also explain why she was all over the place, within a half-note up and down.
Think about it guys her rehearsal is gonna go smoother than the live performance……she had people in the stands moving and talking or whatever…..not to mention in her rehearsal they didn't shoot the fireworks off. And, if you listen close you can tell that's when she started to struggle…..BEAUTIFUL nonetheless. Made me tear…..
