Saint Drew Brees Doesn't Have Time For The Little People

Yesterday, New Orleans Saints Quarterback and MVP Drew Brees was on The David Letterman Show in NYC. Dozens of fans waited for him to arrive in hopes of pictures and autographs, including one man who withstood thirty degree temperatures for over two hours to see his favorite player.
However, Drew rushed past his fans upon his arrival and exit and wouldn't stop for anyone outside. He did, however, sign a football for Sandra Bullock, who was also on the show. As you can see, she unknowingly rubbed her treasure into the face of the poor fan's face as she left for the evening.
Not cool, Drew. Not cool.

Because 80% of these "fans" are people that turn around and sell the autographs and shit online. A real die-hard fan would not sell their 'idol's' autograph like these scums that sell the shit on eBay do.

Perez the reason why he didn't sign any autographs is because he didn't have time. If you actually watched the show you would have know that he was running late, because he had interviews all morning, and was in the parade in Disney World. He also had to get back to New Orleans ASAP for the parade that is taking place today! He wasn't being an ass it has just been a lot going on for him! GEAUX SAINTS!! BLESS YOU BOYS!!

Nice reporting especially the part where you mentioned that since he was a last minute guest his manager could only schedule about 3 hours in NY (include from the airport and back) add to that he got stuck in traffic and got to the show LATE. SO he had enough time to talk to Dave then get BACK on the road to get to the airport in time. Oh wait, you DIDN'T mention that; great journalism. he couldn't. dave was stalling the entire show, waiting for him to show up. dave had to throw footballs to his staff (you might want to check out biff henderson's catch fail) and so they had to rush him right into dave's chair when he arrived.
Well, I know people who have worked directly with Drew on charity events and they have said he will stop for any fan. I am sure his "handlers" (PR people who manage his time) would not let him stop. He is doing a media circuit.
Drew Brees is GREAT to everyone! Little people or not. In fact, he met Sandra at the premier of Blindside and got an autograph for the little boy with cancer he brought with him. He also takes kids on fishing trips in the summer time and donates his time all year long to people less fortunate than he is.
I really can't believe that anyone could ever make up something negative about Drew Brees. He is a Saint in every aspect….

Drew Brees is amazing and would never do that to a fan on purpose. He has the biggest heart and is so amazing to everyone.
Drew Brees is a class act. He would have stopped if he had been able to do so. This is a man who didn't forget (as so many have) that NO isn't the only city on the gulf coast that has been flattened by a hurricane or supported the Saints. The gulf coast is like a community unto itself and he acknowledged that. He said it wasn't a win just for NO but the entire gulf coast. You won't hear that about the east and west coasts.
uh, newsflash. Drew Brees was in Orlando that morning for the SuperBowl MVP parade, then had to fly to New York for the taping. He was running late to the taping and arrived halfway through the taping which is why he didn't have time for autographs. No time on the way out, because he had to fly back to New Orleans.

Had you watched the show, you would've known that Drew Brees was STUCK IN THE LINCOLN TUNNEL and Letterman was waiting for him–on the air! In 48 hours, my Drew (1) won the Super Bowl, (2) went to Disney World, (3) thanked EVERYBODY in the world, (4) flew to NYC, (5) got stuck in the tunnel on the way to Letterman, (6) appeared on Letterman, (7) flew back to NOLA, and (8) is now parading through New Orleans!! He's a class act and had he had time, he would've signed anything for anybody. My friend in Uptown NOLA ran into him at the Camellia Grill a few months ago and he bought him and his friends lunch because they were wearing their WHO DAT gear. GEAUX SAINTS!!

before you go making brees out to be the bad guy here, bear in mind that dude was probably just going to sell the ball he wanted signed on e-bay anyway. brees may have been on his way to something more important. he has been making the rounds of children's hospital wards, etc. if i had to choose between spending my time with sick kids who look up to me and may not make it another week, or an adult male just wanting to make money off of my signature, i think it's obvious where i think his time would be best spent. just sayin'.

Sorry, but this is the second time I have to comment today on something you have written. Brees was very late for the taping of the show and arrived approximately 20 minutes late. He was probably rushed into the studio as soon as he arrived. He gave Sandra Bullock the autograph just before he walked onto the stage. I usually love to read your comments, but you are losing a fan quickly.

Drew and his wife, Brittany, established the Brees Dream Foundation in 2003 and since then have raised and/or committed over $4.5 million to help advance cancer research, care for cancer patients, and help rebuild schools, parks, playgrounds, and athletic fields in New Orleans, San Diego, and Purdue communities. He has done wonders for the city of New Orleans, my home. We love him here and anyone who thinks he is an ass can suck it. i actually saw this letterman show last night anddddddd during the whole beginning dave kept gettin updates about drew's whereabouts bc he was stuck in the holland tunnel. he was running late and probably hadda practically tuck and roll when he arrived at cbs to make his spot. so dont try to make him out to b e a dick bc he seems like such a genuine guy who definately appreciaties the fans.

Love ya, Perez, you're definitely entertaining, but you called this one incorrectly. Drew really is a stand up guy, and is all about his fans. He and his wife will gladly stop on the streets to take pics if you ask, give an autograph, and he goes out of his way to do a lot for local charities and schools. He was running late for the show, which Dave announced, and had been flying all over the place that day. So one guy missed out on an autograph. It happens. But Drew is probably the nicest guy in football….actually, in sports!

Hey ppl the guy in the pic is my cousin. I was shocked to see him on Perez! He just wanted an autograph because he's a fan and never had any intentions of trying to sell the football if he got an autograph. Right now he is not thrilled that ppl are making it out to seem as though Drew is a bad guy and he was happy walking away with saying he was able to see him.
Perez may have wrongly assumed that brees was arrogant…but all these fucking stupid people assume that ALL fans are going to sell the autograph. My cousin is genuinely a HUGE fan that just wanted his autograph and did NOT want to sell it.
Hey, "The little man" as stated in this article is my son - who happens to have Celebral Palsy and is permanently crouched and his legs hurt when he stands for long. Like that day. I guess, no one noticed that. He is a fan of Drew and does not sell any of his fans autographs. He got home sad that day, but never said anything bad about Drew, just that he had a bad day, because he was not able to get the autograph. He understood about Drew being late. FANS BLOW THINGS OUT OF PROPORTION! DREW IS STILL LOVED.

If you watched the show before making any stupid comment you would have known that he got stuck on the Lincoln Tunnel cause he just flew in.
Just to do the interview none the less and then was flying right out to get back to other media responsibilies and be with his team in NO when they arrived.
So actually Drew is literally the exact opposite of what you said he was. He is a nice guy who flew several hours for a 15 minute interview.
