Usher's CD Delayed! Again!Filed under: Music Minute > Usher > Michael Jackson
Not good. Usher's latest CD was scheduled for release yesterday on Super Bowl Sunday, but it has now been pushed back to March 30! Jive Records is refusing to release the new album until the singer signs with new management. His former manager AND mother Jonetta Patton are effing done professionally since late November 2009. Says a source:
Sounds like Usher's mama has territorial issues with the other women in his life! Remember how ugly it got with his ex-wife Tameka?! Usher's first single from his new album "Papers" hit the radio last September but it peaked at Number 31 on the Billboard Hot 100. Not his best. Things could be looking up soon though because it's rumored that he is going to sign with AEG Live CEO Randy Phillips — Usher was at Phillips' table at Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party. The song is okay. It's nothing like his old stuff though. Usher's actually one of the artists that I like that's out today, but I'm not crazy about his newer stuff. He needs to go back to singing songs like Confessions, Burn, U Got It Bad etc. He's been off for a little bit, but I'm sure he'll be back on top soon.

I sang this song everytime it came on and always assumed I'd one day dance to it at my wedding.
And clearly it's success is because of USHER'S UNMISTAKEABLE VOCAL STYLINGS!

I agree Usher will never be the king. All these artists that are out try to mimic Michael, but they will never be him. No one will ever replace Michael Jackson, but I think Usher's songs are good compared to a lot of artists out today.

Jive Records never planned to put Usher's album out on Superbowl Sunday. First of all, albums always come out on Tuesday and his release date had been moved from December 8, 2009 then to Dec.21 then it was just "pushed back" to an unspecified date. Last week was when it was announced that the album would be released on March 30th, so I don't know what Perez is talking about. And also! Why is everyone hating on Usher being the next Michael Jackson? Everyone knows Michael Jackson was one of a kind and no one can touch him, but that does not mean that someone can't come close to what he had and I believe Usher will/has already achieved that goal. And at least Usher has a real voice and adds his own flare to his Jackson-inspired dances, unlike Chris Brown, Ne-Yo, and Omarion who are just Jackson copycats and below par singing voices.
