American Chopper Rides Off Into The Proverbial Sunset

After six seasons, production on TLC's American Chopper is coming to a halt!

Some say the reality show, which began airing on the Discovery Channel in 2003, aided its own demise due to the massive falling out between father and son Paul and Paulie Teutul when Paulie left the family-owened motorcycle shop to start his own design firm last year.

Bummer!

Says a rep for the network: "The show has always been about building one-of-a-kind bikes and the drama of running a family business… The Teutuls will always be part of the Discovery family and we congratulate them on a tremendously successful series run."

One less dysfunctional family in the fish bowl–

I watch nothing on TLC. My remote doesn't know that station exists…

I sure did love all the family drama….that was really the only reason to watch.

blame paul sr., he was always a total jerk to Junior who is the guy who actually designed and built the bikes that made them famous in the first place and got them the TV show! most of the time Sr. sat in his office and managed the money while Jr. was the one actually making the bikes.

i don't blame Jr. for starting his own business, he's clearly the talent of the operation so he shouldn't have to put up with that kinda of shit when he can be his own boss.

    Isn't this old news?

I have never watched a minute of these garbage clowns

that was was ok for a while, but it got old fast. most of their bikes they built were so fucking cheesy. paul sr seems like an asshole and constantly yelling. who can work around that, or watch the show? good riddance.

I don`t know how they could even take that arrogant asshole Paul Sr. for so long. The guy has the maturity of a 8 year old.

Sad to see the show go and sad that another family on a reality show was destroyed.

Guess it was time. The last two season were less about building bikes and a family business and more like a bad soap opera.

I sorta enjoyed the show. Paul Jr. was so nice and seems to be very successful with his new company. Mikey, oh I loved Mickey he was one of a kind. I think he will be a great comedian, if he continues to persue it. As for Paul Sr. he's a very successful man and his company makes those amazing bikes, but I think he needs to work alittle harder to bring his family back together. Afterall family is really all we have.

who cares? their bikes were stupid pieces of shit that no true biker would be caught dead riding anyway!!
